haven't been able to post
My computer has been acting up and i haven't been online...i've missed reading and posting! Just to check in I'm doing great. I am 4 weeks out tomorrow. I am back to work...i must say i never ever thought i would feel this great. I'm working out at the gym too! I haven't had a bit of any complication....other than eating too fast once or twice and feeling the slight discomfort from the food not smoothly going into the pouch. I'm down 29 lbs...i'll take that too! Still having trouble getting all my protein in and don't really like the shakes. I read the post about Nashua Nutrition and plan on making a trip there, i think i want to try that Nectar stuff...maybe a fruity protein drink will work better for me. I am fortunate that i can tolerate any food i've tried. That though does make me nervous too! Though my portions and fat and sugars are what i watch closely, so maybe because i'm so careful about that i haven't had any problems. I hate to complain about being able to tolerate everything, just makes me nervous.
Well thanks for listening, and now that my computer is up and running i will be back around.

Hey Kristene,
Sounds like you're doing great. I didn't go back to work for 5 weeks because (a) I was still feeling really tired every day, and (b) I had the time accumulated so I took it. Anyway, back to work in under 4 weeks is super! I know what you mean about being nervous because you can eat just about anything. I am the same way. I rarely dump. I'm careful, but I hope that I don't start getting too "brave" and try to push the envelope. If I do, and I still don't dump, well, you know where I'm going with that - up up up! So I guess we just have to remember the rules and follow them. So far, at a year out, I've been able to do that. I am so afraid that as time goes on, I won't follow them as closely. I think it's a little of that "failure mentality" left over from the pre-op diet days that have gotten hold of my head.
Anyway, glad to see you're back on the board. Keep up the good work!
Kathy

Hi Kristene,
Great Job!! Just remember to take it easy, and don't do too much, but I think you are doing a wonderful job. I too am able to eat just about anything, but I think just sheer determination has got me through so far. Just keep watching everything like you are.
I do like the nectar drinks. They are a nice change from the shakes.
I am so glad you are doing well, and keep upt the good work.

Hi Kris. Congratulations on your success so far. For a change in protein shakes, I found (at GNC) a bottled drink called Isopure. It comes in many different flavors (my favorites are grape and orange) and has 40g of protein for the 20oz bottle. You may want to give it a try. There's a slight aftertaste, but lots of protein!
I'm not as lucky as you when it comes to eating. I'm trying to chew my food really well and not eat too fast, but sometimes I feel like something is stuck right between my chest and many times it comes back up and I instantly feel better. I guess all I can do is keep trying.
Seems as though my weight is at a stand still right now. Could be PMS though. I've been 225 for over a week now (give or take an ounce or 2.) It's a little frustrating, but now my new motto is, "DON'T GET DISCOURAGED!" It's not like before the surg. when I would get discouraged and binge on a bag of chips.....I know I can't do that!
Continued good luck to you!
