Lactose Intolerance?
Hi All,
Well, I don't know how I find so much to do but I've been at it all day. Of course, staying busy is a big help these last few days pre-op. I've stayed busy. LOL And I've begun to wonder about this lactose intolerance issue. I've been drinking Soy milk and I like it. I tell the NUT that and she says that's great and use it to replace milk. But what do people do in Phase 3 if they are actually intolerant because most of the allowable snacks are dairy based (yogurt, cottage or ricotta cheese). Not much to choose from otherwise (cream soups). Just thinking out loud here. Finishing Day 3 on full liquids. I'm doing Ok. I'm very glad not to have to have done any 2-week liquid diet though. Love Jello but SF jello won't take you very far. Treading

Hi T!
Both DH and I are lactose intolerant. We take a once-a-day pill for it that's put out by Digestive Advantage. It's in a green box found near the Lactaid brand products at Hannafords, Walgreens and Walmart for sure. I'm sure other places also carry it, but these are the places that I've purchased it. They recommend taking two a day for the first few days, then one a day. Once it gets into my system, if I miss one day, it's usually not a problem for me.
If I'm drinking a glass of milk or making CIB, I use Lactaid milk, but all other dairy products are the normal, low fat versions and I don't have problems anymore.
Oh! Dr. Paciulli took a look at the pretty small pill and suggested breaking it in half. It snaps apart easily.
