I couldn't find a good question for today, so I'll make it a free day!  Post what's on your mind, then come back and comment on someone else's post.

What's on my mind today is that it's my birthday, and I am going for my 6 week check up (which probably means I will get my first fill) this afternoon.  I'm excited and nervous at the same time.

My foolish cat snuck outside last week and brought back fleas.  I spent fifty bucks at PetCo this morning buying stuff to get rid of them.  I haven't seen them in the house, but I'm all itchy and paranoid just thinking about it.

And I am also thinking about my trip this weekend to Mystic Aquarium.  Its a good thing that protein shakes travel well, since that's what I'll be eating!

Happy B-day, C!  And what a special way to celebrate by getting your band filled.  It's not for everyone but our sort loves that kind of thing.  Maybe someday they'll have band-fill or co-pay gift cards?

Let's see - what am I thinking about?  Hmmmm....maybe about...no, hmmmm.... oh, I don't know.  Nothing much, I guess.

Treading,
I know what you're thinking about -- your upcoming surgery!  It's getting really close now.  You must be excited.  By the way, are you having RNY or lap-band?

I am thinking about oil.  I just called our oil company and asked them to top off our tank and the tank at our other house (where our daughter lives) while the price is low.  (Low?  Yeah right, 3.859/gallon!)  We have always been prebuy customers, but this year, we didn't do it.  They've actually come down on the prebuy price since first offering it this summer, but it's still 4.299/gallon.  I'm very betwixt and between on whether we should prebuy or take our chances with the price throughout the winter.  Having two homes to heat makes it a very scary prospect no matter which way we go, and the "rent" we get from our daughter isn't exactly a windfall, if you know what I mean.  For those of you who use oil, what are you doing about heating your homes this winter?

We have not bought oil yet, but I noticed that Just Oil in Rochester was $3.79, so we are going to have to seriously think about topping our tank off too.  Our main source of heat though in the winter is our coal stove.  That heats the basement and first floor stays at about 75 degrees.  The only set back, is coal seems to be getting almost as expensive as oil.  We paid almost $1,000 for 3.5 ton last year.  But on the positive side, we only go through 2 tanks of oil a year.

Hi Kathy!  You're right, I'm thinking about my RNY surgery on Tuesday.  I'm stressed but not overly so.  I mostly want to get throught the work week.  The weekend will fly by and I'm not so thrilled to be going to the hospital on Monday for my PICC line that I want to rush things too much.  It is powerfully distracting though and that makes my work much harder than usual.  I'll survive.

Oil.  We prepaid for 800 gals,. I think.  At a hideous price , too.  We also have 2 wood stoves and we use one of them quite a lot and that helps.  On the weekends I can use the 2nd wood stove to warm up the basement so I can sew and do other projects.  I closed windows and set the furnace to 60 last night.  Sigh.

I am thinking about a few things.  First, going up to Pittsburg this weekend.  We are going to put the pontoon boat in First Connecticut Lake, do some moose hunting, leaf peeping, and fishing.  My daughter, son-in-law and grandson are coming with us. Hopefully Cam will see his first real live moose!!  Second, I have to go to my PCP for a physical, and I am actually looking forward to getting on the scale....what a concept.  And finally, how lucky I am to have my brother-in-law with us.  He was in New York City 7 years ago, and had to run for his life.  Thank god he did not go to the top of the towers like his business partner wanted to.

Happy Birthday also!!

Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you!!!! I hope you enjoyed your day and that your fill went smoothly. What does it feel like to get a fill? I'm curious.

We have propane - no oil. We joined a co-op and get a good price. I think it's $2.69/gal. We also have a wood stove. I woke up last night and put socks on - my toes were freezing.

I'm thinking about my daughter Nicole - she's 15 weeks pregnant and went for an ultasound today. She has a placenta bleed so she is considered high risk. The bleed has not gotten any bigger and the baby looks just fine. We are so relieved. She'll have an ultasound every 3 - 4 weeks to keep an eye on it. And they are 90% sure little Nathaniel is getting a baby sister
I'm thrilled but I am worried abount my little girl.

Have a good weekend Bamma and give your brother - in - law a hug.

Treading the countdown has begun. I remember the last few days before my surgery . I went to Best Buy 2 days before and bought about $150 worth of stuff - and used my corporate credit card by mistake- that had never happened before or since so you know where my mind was. Try to relax as much as you can. I'll be thinking of you.
