Xpost from the RNY forum---my first WOW---just three weeks out.

So, I went to work the other day and my clothes are just about falling off me.  I mean, really, it is not good.....  I started out here in a tight 30/32 both top and bottom.  I always have gone toward KNIT stuff cuz of the stretch factor!

I decided to go to the 40% off clearance at Fashion Bug.  I grabbed the 26/28's and headed for the dreaded dressing room....THEY WERE TOO BIG.

I went back out and got 22/24 and they fit just right.  I swear I almost started crying right there in the dressing room.  I have not been that size since before I met my husband 18 years ago....

Silly me, I bought 6 shirts!  (granted I only spent $40 and I got a bra too...) I should have bought three this size and 3 in 18/20.

I will tell you why.  I think in the back of my mind----there is that secret voice (remember her, I talk about her a lot---she needs to SHUT UP!)....she is saying to me, "18/20, don't waste your money it will be a LONG time before you get there--IF EVER".

The the rational side of me thinks that.....I am already down to a 22/24 in JUST THREE WEEKS!

My butt is still big.  It barely fits in a 26.  I am definately turning into a pear shape.

Maybe I will take three shirts back today.  I don't know.  I need a wardrobe for the hear and now....

Michelle,

I know exactly how you feel.  That little voice keeps telling me not to even think about trying some clothes on because I will be "disappointed".

I say GO FOR IT, and bring three of the shirts back, and get 2 18/20 and one 14/16.  That way, you can celebrate two times.  Just remember the little caboose....Yes I Can...Yes I can!!!!!

I understand how you're feeling.  It's hard to imagine that you are REALLY going to lose the weight this time.  I look at the clearance racks but am also afraid to buy anything smaller.

It will be difficult emotionally, but I'd take the shirts back and get some in smaller sizes!

I def think you should take some back and get a smaller size - you'll be plesently surprised at how fas you'll go down in size.

What fun, Michele.  This time your little voice is just dead wrong.  This time the weight IS coming off and it is going to stay off.  Poor wee little voice is going to be some surprised to learn she is WAY behind the times.  Treading

CELL-A-BRATION TIME COME ON!!!!  Woooooooo!  Guess what?  It's working!  Didn't really believe it would till it started to happen to you, right?  I was the same way.  I also lost my boobs first, then my arms, my upper stomach and the part that holds on the hardest is my lower stomach, butt & thighs.  I guess it's just a top down process for me.  But even if the butt is the last to start to budge, it will.  Just give it time.

Lord, give me stregth and when I lack it, patience.

It's an amazing feeling isn't it!  Last weekend I went to LBryant for some new clothes ( I was a 28 before surgery on 4/1/08), everything was too big!!!  I actually went to Old Navy and Kohls and shopped in the regular sizes.  I bought 16's and I did start crying!  So bring back a shirt or 2, you'll be amazed at how quickly you change sizes!

Wow Wow Wow that's great!  It's going to just keep going for you.  You are not going to believe it, but everytime you go shopping for awhile, you'll be down a size.  My suggestion:   Put a bag in your garage or a corner of your bedroom where you can put all your clothes as it gets too big.  If it's too big, don't put it back in your closet or your drawer, put it in the bag.  When the bag's full, donate it and start a new one for the next round of clothes.  Although I would keep one pair or pants or something that you wore at your heaviest because you just won't believe the difference if you don't have the visual.

When you do shop, I also suggest that you buy the stuff kind of snug because within a week or two it will fit perfectly, and within the next couple of weeks, it will be too big!  It's amazing how fast you will shrink.  If something fits you in the dressing room, no matter how good, go out and get the next size smaller and try it on.  Nine out of ten times, it will fit even better than the bigger size!

I had a similar thing that happened to me a couple of days ago.  I was wearing my comfortable jean pants the same ones I wore to and from the hospital.  Anyway I was standing at the stove dishing out dinner to my daughters when my pants just fell down to my knees.  Of course my daughters both thought it was hilarious and would not stop laughing.

Now I have made up two piles one for a friend a church and the other one for the local consighment shop.  I'm hoping to get some money back to go shoping for more clothes when the ones I have left fall off!

Note to self:  buy a belt!  I would die to lose my pants at work.  I'd have to move out of the state and it would be a real shame.  Too funny.  What a great job and so soon post-op.  Good for you.
