9/6 QOTD: Where is the most inspirational place you've ever been?
I have two places that are memorable as being inspirational. A month before I married my husband, I was in the Great Smoky Mountains with a friend. I decided to go off for a walk by myself. It was really really foggy, but it was just so serene and peaceful. It was a really good spot to think about the changes that my life was about to take.
The other place that I just love for its natural beauty is Flume Gorge. When we've visited, we've gone when they first open and there aren't any other people around. I don't have any special memories of anything that's happened there for me personally, but I just enoy being in that chasm.

One of the most inspirational places I have been is right here in NH. A small town called Canaan. It is where my mom was born, my grandmother lived, and where both are buried. It is also a place of wonderful childhood memories. We used to rent a cabin on Canaan Street Lake every year. The land was owned by John and Lucy Roberts. We used to go places in the back of John's pickup truck, all wrapped up in blankets. It is where I learned to swim and fish. It was, and still is my place of comfort, peace and serenity. I still go to the lake and just sit and remember when time went very slow, and kids could be kids.
Can I just tell you that I LOVE my Church? No, not because I work there and am paid! LOL. We attend Ste. Marie's on the West side of Manchester and it truely is a beautiful, beautiful church. I was married there, baptized my babies there and two out of three have made first communion there.
Now, other beautiful places......
St. patrick's cathedral in NYC, St. Anne de Beaupre in Quebec.
The Kangamangus Highway in the fall! LOVE IT!
The ocean
The view from the Empire State Building!

I didn't post right away because I had a hard time with this one. So many places are inspirational to me. I thought about the one semester that I spent in college in Boston. I used to love to go to the Boston Public Library. There's an atrium there that was just so peaceful. I used to love to sit there and write my papers or read. Whenever I walk into a church, I get a completely peaceful feeling - everytime. Then there's my garden. It's not very big (except when I have to weed it - then it feels like it's 20 acres big). I also love the lake where my Mom lives. Every year, we head to the Caribbean for a week. It's a great vacation, but I always really enjoy the ocean early in the morning when no one is out there, and I can just sit and watch - and listen - to the waves. Yellowstone Park a few years back was awe-inspiring. Even snowshoeing out at my brother's place in Goffstown makes me feel really good. So I guess that I'd have to say that anything that gets me immersed in this world's natural beauty does it for me!
