Well, simply put I hated them!  I was so excited to see them at the store because I saw so many posts and they have so much protein -but I'd never heard of them and who knew?  Well, I guess I'd still be willing to try them fresh?  Frozen?  Steamed?  But these dry raosted ones are off my list.  Yuck-a doo-doo!

I havent tried them dry roasted yet.....

I did buy some frozen already shelled....so they are just the little green thing.  I have thrown them into my summersquash casserole (stole the initial recipe from eggface's blog but have totally made it my own now!).  Very yummy in there.  I put in just 1 Cup for the whole thing just for a boost of protien.

Hey Michelle-
This is your first week back to work, right?  How's it going?

Well, I have a desk job....so that is no real problem.  I am doing really well.  Other than the constant ITCHING from the incisions I am almost back to normal!  Wish I got full faster----that concerns me....but then again 1/2 a cup at a time isn't bad.  It seems like when I read people being full on just 2oz....I get a little jealous.

I think I am down almost 20lbs.  I need to get a digital scale.  I didn't have one because most scales only go to 300 and I am too cheap to buy a more expensive one!

I'm so glad you posted, Treading.  The board has been way too quiet today, and I was having withdrawals.  I was trying to think of something to post, just to get it moving, but I was out of ideas!

Anyway, someone else posted about the dry roasted edamame on the main board or the RNY board (I don't remember which) earlier this week, and they hated them too.  I have a bag of regular ones in my freezer.  I keep forgetting they're there.  One of these days, I'm going to pull them out and mike or steam them or something.

I have a bag of frozen, already shelled edamame in my freezer.  Maybe I'll try some in my scrambled eggs.  I never tried the ones in the shell.  I also have some dry roasted ones in my pantry.  I use to put them on my salad and that was pretty good.  I liked the crunch it gave to the salad.

Oh man I'm disappointed. I was hoping they would be delish. There is someone on the RNY board that sells dry roasted. I have never had them but I like Michelle's idea of putting them in a caserol. I ate my first real crunchie thing last night!!! I had 10 soy crisps. Soooo good. I'm going to make sure I eat them only as a treat because I can so see me grabbing the bag every night this winter.

I think they're soy nuts.  They look like green peas.

I've had people at work rave about them too!  I'm chicken when it comes to trying anything new, so I think I'll just skip this all together!  LOL!
