I now look forward to exercising. Preop, I would try and exercise regularly, but something would always get in the way -- usually my excuses! Anyway, now I really like exercising and go out of my way to get my workout in any way that I can. How much my food tastes have changed. Tomatoes are so good now. I've hated the little beggars my whole entire life and now when I think of all the great tomatoes I helped grow in my mom and grandmother's garden, I feel like I missed out! There's lots of other things like this too, but this one will do for an example.

Try them grilled. Cut them in half, brush a little olive oil on them and grill or broil them until they're soft. They work great to provide a moist food with your meal. Sometimes I top them with a little grated parmesan cheese and an artichoke heart.

#1-The most surprising thing was how I wasn't obsessed about what and when I would be eating again. Every other time I've tried to lose weight, all I ever could think about was my next meal.
#2-How supportive everyone has been, even casual acquaintances. When they ask how I lost the weight, I tell them and everyone has reacted positively.
I think my most surprising thing so far, is how great I feel. With just 28 pounds gone, I can walk without pain, I have energy, and I do not get exhausted. My husband, daughter, and son-in-law took my grandson to Storyland this weekend. I have not walked or stood for as long as I did that day, and I felt great. I was the only one not sleeping (well except for my hubby who was driving), on the way home. We left at 10:30, and did not get back to camp until 8:30...we went up the Mt. Washington Auto Road also, and at 10:30, I was still awake. It felt good not to be in pain....and to be able to get in and out of the rides was even more amazing. The next day, I went snorkling for over an hour, not sore or tired at all today.
