I'm Home!
I finally got home last night around 8:30. I thought I was going to be able to go home on Thursday, but had nausea on Wednesday and Thursday morning (not fun). The surgery went well was in quiet a bit of pain after the surgery the nurse told me to just keep pressing the pain button. It was uncomfortable for a few hours but still well worth it in the long run. Slept on and off for the most part on Tuesday. I had some problems with the morphine drip, it caused to me to itch horribly, but did no bother me until Tuesday night. Dr Gens changed the drip to Fentaneyl(sp). Took me off the liquids on Wednesday afternoon after having dry heaves. And back on full liquid diet on Friday morning. I weighted in at 236.3 lbs for surgery, and had to weigh no more than 249.
Definite add on to your hospital list for PRH is crystal light drink powder sticks. The water tasted like chlorine. I had brought my sports water bottle and just filled it with the water from the pitcher and added drink mix. It was so much better.
Thanks for all your good wishes and prayers.
Cleaned house this morning, still more to do, but I am off for a nap.

Welcome Home - So glad you're doing well. Thanks for the Crystal Light tip - duly noted and already packed. LOL. I had the same horrid itchy reaction to dilaudid. Just one of the many reasosns why my last hospital experience made such a bad and lasting impression on me. Very nice pre-op weight loss, Jaimbry- way to go. Has Gens told you about all the recent research showing that the more weight lost pre-op means a lower final weight post-op? He has told me about it twice already. The fact that you give a damn about the housework is a very good sign to me. You're on your way. Rest now and let us know how you're doing at times. So good to have you home. Treading
So glad you are home and doing well. Take it easy with the housecleaning and lifting. Listen to your body.
I live for the Crystal Light powder sticks. I carry them everywhere. I love the mandarin orange red tea!!! I put two in a 32 ounce sports bottle, then keep filling a glass with ice. It is the best.
Keep well, and remember to take it easy!!!!
