3 month wait
In the event that misery might like company, WHEN you have completed all other requirements for the OTC program at CMC, right now it is about a 3 month wait to have your initial appointment with the surgeon. I'm on target to have everything done by my appointment with Dr Finnochiaro on Sept 25th. That means I'm probably looking at sometime in Dec for my meeting with the surgeon. They have been trying to find another surgeon to add to the team, but haven't found one yet. However, the surgery is worth waiting for (difficult as that wait might be). And, I'm just philosophical enough to believe that there is a reason for everything. Damned if I know what it is, but there is some ultimate purpose for why I have to wait. I just know I'll be more than ready when my turn comes.

Great attitude, Donna. A 3 month delay is pretty dang long but there is a lot you can do with the time. I spent 3 months searching out the various programs before deciding on PRH. I started in Jan and I am 3 weeks away from my surgery. I chose to go slow but the programs take time and it is probably a very good thing that they do. I'd call this a week of rotten news except that Cindita's news is great. And there we have it. Treading
Hi Donna:
I've been going to the CMC team. I had my Lap Band put in four weeks ago at Tufts. Dr. Campbell wouldn't do it because she considered me high risk because I have Crohn's disease so they sent me to Dr. Tarnoff at Tufts who just so happen to be the Dr. that trained her. I've met with Dr. Finnochiaro and he's very nice. I'll be having my first fill next week but I'm going to Tufts. I've never even met Dr. Campbell. I have been seeing the dieticians and been going to the pre-op support meetings. Tomorrow night I'll be going to the post-op support meeting. I too had to wait 2-3 months. My surgery date was changed 3 times so I feel your pain. Good things are worth waiting for. Hang in there.

It is funny how some people can make programs work for them and do it all in just six months. I know I submitted everything to DHC in NOVEMBER and just had my surgery last week. I thought it would be just after the first of the year---then they wanted this test or that test and then I didn't make that 10 lb. wt. loss....so that put me out another month. Then when I finally had everything ready, appointments were booking 6 weeks out. Then it was another 8 weeks from my surgeon appointment.
It feels like it will take forever when you are in the midst of it----right up until you start that pre-op diet!! Then it is suddenly pretty real!
