Mount Washington
Hi Scotty,
Congratulations!!!!!!!!! That has long been a dream of mine as well. I often drive up there and can't wait to hike up! Last fall I started on the NH 4,000-footer list. I've now done 4 of the 48 (Mt. Pierce, Mt. Te****eh, Mt. Field and Mt. Tom). I'm hoping to do 1 more this fall. I'm saving Mt. Washington for last - save the best for last, I say!! I'm 45 now, and I'd like to finish the 4,000 footer list and hike Mt. Washington the year I turn 50.
And...I've started reading about long-distance hiking like the Appalachian Trail and the Long Trail in VT. Don't know if I'll ever do it, but it's fun to read about! I'm really curious if other WLS folks have done any of these trails and how they managed food, etc without carrying a microwave in my pack!
I'd love to join any hiking adventures in NH with others on this board.
To join in the hike suggestions - Mt. Major is a great one. I hiked it several years ago and couldn't make it to the top - I've now done it 3 times! And...Mt Agamenticus in York, Maine is a nice easy hike (with great views (Including of Mt. Washington and/or the Isles of Shoals in the Atlantic!).
