re: What Am I Missing?
Hello Folks,
I've been doing my pre-op shopping and today is my day to go to the Pharmacy for those oh-so-important items. I've taken notes and so I think I have most items on my list but I wonder if you experienced post-ops see anything I've overlooked? I have liquid tylenol, Milk of Mag, Miralax, Centrum Silver Chewables, Gas-X strips, SF Breath strips, Benadryl cream, anti-fungals meds (in case of yeast infection), Benefiber powder, UpcalD powder, chapstick. Also, have you ever seen SF liquid tylenol? I haven't so far. I guess that covers it. I plan to buy protein poder samples, bars, and bullets on line so that's why I didn't mention them above. Thanks! I only have one comment - about the Centrum Chewables. I was told that those are not good chewables for us because they don't have iron in them. Something you may want to ask your doc about.
I also really came to love the no sugar added Carnation Instant Breakfasts for my protein drinks at the beginning. In fact, I still have one every morning, but I mix it with skim milk (no****er) and a scoop of EAS Whey protein powder.
Finally, when I was first out, I really enjoyed the fat free Campbell's cream soups.
Good luck.

Hi Treading,
I got my liquid Tylenol at Right Aid. I think I've used it once and that was for a headache. I stocked up on applesauce before surgery and guess what... I no longer like applesause. I did the Flinstone chewables - now I take Trader Joes adult chewables. I use Unjury protein powder and add some sugar free syurp to them. I used a cup with a cover in the beginning because I didn't care for the smell but I got used to it. I start my day with a protein shake.

Hi Rosemary,
I guess we are all destined to overdo something (applesauce) and loose our taste for it for good and all. I ordered from vitalady tonight (several samples of various protein powders and some syrups. If I don't find these agreeable, I will order the unjury unflavored. I actually love the NSA CIB strawberry and the chocolate is OK, too. But who knows what I'll tolerate or like post-op? I think I'm in good shape. I have the essentials at least. Thanks and enjoy your family visit. Treading

Hi Treading,
I added B12 sublinguals (sp), they are suppose to help you heal faster. I also have picked up various DaVinci SF syrups (Walmart or TJ MAXX) to add to the protein drinks. I figure if I only get the vanilla powder I can always change the flavor with the syrups. Also if you go to Eggface's blog, she has protein ice cream receipes using the syrups, protein powders and some odds and ends. I have had a few and they are really good, my kids are eating them so I know they must taste pretty good to them.
I'm glad you posted as I can see a few things I have forgotten to get before this Tuesday.
Thanks and Good Luck

Hi Jaimbry,
Tuesday! By gum you'll be on the other side of this thing in no time. Good for you. I added 2 Devinci syrups to my Vitalady order. Maybe not the best price but I was already there so I went ahead and added them to my "cart". I adore one-stop shopping - I do. So, as far as vits and meds go, I believe I have it all covered (already have the B-12 subling's). DH will be with me for my first 2 weeks and I have 3 great friends staying in shifts as well. If I don't have it, someone can get it because, after all, Hillsboro may be rural but it ain't that rural!
Well, I'm off to my family BBQ alongside sister's gorgeous pool. Ta Ta. Treading
