1st appt. with the Surgeon

I'm excited and nervous.  I don't really know what to expect.  And of course, my husband can't be there, so I won't have him to help calm my nerves.  I'll let y'all know how it goes.  Wish me luck.

Best of luck, Regina.  Don't worry, it will be fine.  At my first appt we talked.  That was it.  I was weighed and brought to Gens' office.  We discussed the surgery and my medical history and my progress through the program.  That was it.  Easy as pie.  Treading

Yup, you will have no problems.  My first meeting with Dr. Gens went really well.  I was nervous also.  I found making a list of questions helped me, that way I did not forget anything.  Dr. Gens required my hubby to come the second meeting, so heads up.  Not sure if Dr. Looser will require.

I believe he will have to be there also.  I gave him a heads up and explained that it was very important that he be there for that one.  On average how many appts. to most people have witht he surgeon??

Besy of luck, Regina!  I think the typical amount of visits is 2 - the first meeting where you just talk about the surgery and a little bit of what to expect, then your second one, with your DH where you go into more detail.  I didn't have a 'list' of questions made up for the first one, but I did the second time.  I hope it went well!

I saw Dr. Looser and things seem to be on their way.  He said I just have to wait for Tricare approval and then they will give me my date.  I can't wait to be healthy again for the first time in a long time.Thanks for all you guys responses.  It helped put me more at ease.
