Hi:

My name is Dianne and I am 52 years old.  I have been married for almost 8 years 8/19, to a most wonderful man.

I have been lurking on the boards since February of this year.  I am a New Hampshire native born and raised within a 30 mile radius.  I work for the State of New Hampshire as a technical support specialist and have worked for NH for 32 years.

I have a son who is going to be 30 this year (can't believe it!) and a daughter 26 who is the mother to my two grandsons.  One grandson lives in Phoenix and one lives in FLorida.  We also have 2 cats who are just too spoiled.

I love to camp, hike, snowmobile and ride ATVs.  I also love to read and knit!

My surgery is scheduled for 9/5 and I can't wait to get this new lifestyle started.  I too have to be at the hospital at 6AM - good thing I will get to sleep through the surgery!  Iti is a 45 minute ride from home so it will definitely be an early day for my poor husband.

You and I have the same anniversary!

I had to be at the hospital at 6 for my surgery as well.  My husband had to drive me there, then drive the hour back home to get our son and take him to daycare, then turn right around to come all the way back to the hospital to bring me home!  He was a trooper about it!  :)

That is cool!

Hubby will be fine - I will tell him to go get something to eat and come back - I am sure that he will have enough time - just how long were you in the OR?  I will make sure that he brings some reading material and such

I had lapband done, so I went into the OR at 7:30, and Dr. P. called him at 9:15 to say I was out and fine.  I woke up at 10:15, and left an hour later to come home.

Your surgery is scheduled for 7, but they won't actually take you back to the OR until 7:30 or so.  I didn't realize that ahead of time.

Hi, my name is Laurie and I will be turning 53 on 9/2. I have been married to the only man I ever dated, May 15 will be our 32nd anniversary. His name is John,we dated for 5 yr before we married, so we have been together for 37 yrs. We have 1 son, Matthew who is 28, wow where does the time go. Matt is a single, very handsome young man (mothers pride, sorry). He has a girlfriend, Meghan but they are doing a long distance relationship, she just moved home to live, her college loans are due, and she couldn't get a teaching job in NH so she is back with Mom in Ct, hoping to get a job there to start paying back her loans. She is a wonderful girl so I hope it works out for them.only time will tell.

I work at a wonderful Nursing facility in Ma., D'Youville Senior Care. I love my job, well, not really, I just love alot of the residents that reside there. I am an HR Assistant and the back up Receptionist. I got my job there 10 months after I had GBP, my Mother was very ill when I had my surgery, and she had to go there as I could not take care of her after surgery, she took a downward turn and ended up staying there for her safety and care. She passed away that Nov. but not before she saw me relatively thin. It was the first time she ever told me she was proud of me. I would visit her so much that they asked me if I wanted a per diem job at reception. Then after she passed and the holidays were over, they again asked me to concider a job in HR. I only work 25 hrs, but I usually stay after work to spend time with my favorite folks. It's a very rewarding place to work.
I have an older brother Jim who is the funniest guy I have ever met. I love him to pieces and don't know what I would do without him... I have a Sister, but since I reached goal she doesn't speak to me at all. She is a very self centered person, the baby of the family and I think she does not like hearing others, complimenting me. she truely has green eyed envy. I love my sister, but I don't like her, she is very selfish person that only thinks of herself so, I don't want negative people in my life, so I'm dealing with the loss and moving on.

I had my surgery on 1/19/04. I was lucky enough to have Dr. Jeff Brown do my surgery and after care. He has been one of my biggest supporters and is now a very good friend.
My life is so uch better now, i am happy, healthy and going crazy through menopause, but it is now truely a wonderful life.
Laurie in NH     Expect the Best !  You will receive the Best....

Hi, my name is Rosemary. I'll be turning 50 on October 29th. I was married to my high school sweetheart Lou at 19.  We have 2 beautiful daughters. He died very suddenly on the Saturday before Thanksgiving in 1996. I thought my life was over. About 2 years later a coworker asked my over for coffee on a Sunday morning. At that visit I met her brother Bill. 2 weeks went by and she asked if it was ok to give him my phone number. I aked what for?  Well Bill called and we became friends and so much more. We were married in January 2005. It toook me a while. I thought my husband would always be Lou. I know in my heart that he is looking down and very happy for me. My girls have a lot to do with it too. It takes time to heal. We have come full circle. They love Bill and we really have become a family.
Billy is my stepson, he's the oldest, 30. He works for Fidelity as a network engineer. He just moved to North Carolina. He's single but in a relationship, long distance for now. Nicole is 28, a special education teacher, she's married to Charlie, who I love. They were high school sweethearts. They have a beautiful son, my pride and joy, Nathaniel. He'll be a year in October. They had to do fertility. But guess what baby # 2 is due March 5th. No fertility. It just happened.
The baby is Erin. She's 26 and single but also in a relationship. She's a manager of a Verizion Wireless store. Both girls had RNY in 2003. They are doing fantastic and are so much help to me.
I'm a vice president of a credit union in Rochester. I love my job and the people I work with. My boss has been fantastic and so supportive. He tells my often that I'm an inspiration.
I'm originally from MA moved to NH at the end of 2000. I love it here :)
I decided to have surgery last October but had to wait for a change in insurance coverage. After I made my decision Erin cried and told me she was so afraid that I was going to die because I was getting bigger and bigger. Nicole came with me to the first informational meeting - she took notes and asked questions. She was so cute.  At the end she said ok you can have your surgery here - they have a good program. They had theirs at Newton Wellsley Hospital. This was the best decision I think I've ever made just for myself. Bill has been very helpful and tells me often how proud he is of me.
I have lost many people in my life - I'm the only one left from my immeadiate family but God has given me so much as well. He's taken but put new people in my life. I no longer question why. I just truley believe everything happens for a reason.
I am very happy and excited my little family is growing :)

Hello, My name is Renee and I'm 47 years old and live in Hooksett.  I was born and raised in Manchester.  I have been married to my wonderful husband Bruce for 18 years this week. (we met at a singles dance).  We have a 17 year old daughter and 15 year old son.  Both attend Central High in Manchester.  We are currently in the search of college for my daughter to attend next year.  I can't wait till this is all over.  She's an art major.  College is so expensive.  I'm still paying for my student loans.  I graduated with a bachelor's degree from Franklin Pierce.  I work for the city of Manchester at city hall.  It's great because I see so many people I know.  When I was growing up in Manchester I was a member of the Muchachos Drum and Bugle corp and then the 27th Lancers in Revere, MA.
We have a Sheltie named Rocky and a cat named Pongo. I like to sew, needlepoint, and bake.  My favorite music is classic rock and jazz. (my cousin plays horn for Leon Redbone).   My husband and I love to go to Vegas and Mohegan Sun.  The whole family loves to go to Disney World.  Next summer I'd like to take the kids to Disney Land in Calif.  before my daughter goes off to college.  One last big family vacation.  My favorite actor is Johnny Depp and my favorite singer is Steve Perry.  I tell my husband that the only person I'd ever have an affair with is Steve Perry.  My husband replies that he's not worried.  LOL
I love my family, life, job and we are very fortunate that we have our health, jobs and a roof over our heads.  That's it for me.

Hey Renee, we work practically right next door to each other.  I'm in the Hampshire Plaza building at the Bankruptcy Court.
