Surgery tomorrow
Hi everyone,
I just wanted to say thank you for all the information you have shared since I joined. I know I was late in coming in, but you all are the best. My surgery is tomorrow. I have to be there at 6:00 am. I must admit that when I joined, and saw other people, mainly on the main board, canceling or unsure of their surgery, I thought, no way would I be there. But this morning, I did get a bit teary eyed, and started to question if I was making the right decision. But then I remembered last night. It was so cool to be able to play baseball with my grandson, and "run" the bases. And that was with only 22 pounds gone!! I just kept imagining us a year from now!! So I am better now....starving...but better. I will post when I come home to let everyone know how I am. Again, thank you for being the best.

I plan on leaving as soon as possible, but they are repairing a hiatal hernia also, so I am not sure if Dr. Gens will let me. It is just my hubby and me, and my two puppies, so it should not be too bad. I have to just keep Pebbles, our 9 month old Jack Russell Terrier from jumping on me!!! I will check in as soon as I can though. Thanks so much
I'm swinging chickens for you, Martha, and knowing you'll be just fine. Say, I can offer a tip about protecting yourself from jumping dogs. I have 3 and they love, LOVE, to launch themselves on me in the bed when they are brought back from a walk or the kennel. I've had a few big surgeries so this is what we did:
we took a large tote tub (plastic) and cut a half circle out of the ends so that it could sit over my torso until the dogs settled down. It worked just great. My DH did the cutting with good garden clippers and told me it wasn't too hard. Now, i have to root around in the basement to find mine. It's been 2 years so i hope it hasn't gotten tossed.
