Saw Dr. Gens Today
Well, I saw Gens for my 2nd consult and it went very well. He was thrilled with my weight loss (lost another 4 lbs) and I was so happy to see the office was done being renovated! I am a quirky person and appearances matter to me. I like the neat, fresh coat -of-paint look, I do. Wish to hell I could get them to put a fresh coat of paint on the 4th floor of the hopsital. I don't mind that the unit is old but I hate scuffed up walls and such.
Anyway, back to what really matters - I'm all set to go. My pre-op testing went well and Gens had done a thorough job of reviewing my surgical history. He took seriously the trouble I have with my veins. They just don't hold up and so he insisted I come to Portsmouth the day before my surgery and to have a PIC line inserted. I am very glad for this. I've had so many dreadful and needless ordeals over blown veins that it is so hard for me to approach any procedure without anxiety. This will go a long ways towards making my recovery easier. Good for Gens!
Well, my pre-op at the hospital is in 2 weeks and then my surgery is in about a month. My how time flies! Treading
Glad you have everything straightened out and you are getting close! So happy for you!
Keep on doing great!
Hi Treading,
Congratulations on being so close! It tuly seems like yesterday that you introduced yourself to me at the Frank Jones Center!
I wanted to let you know that although the 4th floor won't be renovated in time for your surgery, that the whole hospital -- pretty much from top to bottom -- is being renovated, added to and updated over the next three years. The hospital is putting more than $63 million dollars into the project, which officially kicked off last month! It's really going to be an amazing upgrade. In the interim, maybe I'll have to go up there and scrub some walls for you!
Of course, good luck to you as things move (quickly forward).
Best regards,

Say, thanks for all the well wishes. Yes, things are coming along very nicely for me. That is exciting news about the top-to-bottom renovation, Grant. And I know very well the unit is in good repair and is very clean despite being aged. Much more than the paint, it is the nursing and support care that will matter and I feel pretty confident about that. I'd still like a fresh coat of paint but I'll stop talking about it. On here, anyway. LOL. And yes, I remember our meeting way back in the winter, Grant. I was very impressed with the seminar and with seeing your follow up here on the boards.
Gosh, we have quite a few surgery dates coming up, don't we? Woohoo! Treading
