I don't really recall any "bad' diets, but once I went to Diet Workshop.  Mind you, there was nothing wrong with their diet, but I would eat canned tuna with cottage cheese and mustard for lunch during that time.  DH couldn't even sit at the table with me when I was eating it.  I'm sure you can all picture what that looked like!

Yup, all mixed up together.  At the time, I didn't think it was bad, but now I can't even think about looking at it in a bowl, nevermind eating it!

Nutra- something.  This may or may not have been a very early version of Nutra-Systems but the place I went was in Bedford and back in 1981.  What a gimmick!  Ther initial diet was for 500 calories a day.  There game was to have the place set up much like a hospital setting.  You had to go there EVERYDAY to be weighed in and they handed you 2 packets of pills.  The pills were ......drum roll, please.....vitamins.  Oh, and you peed in a jar and they did a test strip and assured you the diet was working!   So, you were treated like a patient and taken to see various specialist and sent out the door and told to eat no more than 500 calories and come back tomorrow.  And you paid hansomeley every week for this.  I was very young and of average intelligence but I knew I was being had.  I didn't remain a "patient" for very long.  LOL.

Mine was nutrisystem.  You ate their food, which was very expensive.  I had to go there every week to get weighed, and have my "counseling" session.  Oh yes, and pick up their food.  It was really bad.  I used to have to fix a meal for my husband and two children, and then sit down to this frozen tv dinner type meal.  We never went out to dinner, very rarely went away because I was not supposed to eat real food.  To say the least, I think this only lasted for about 4 to 5 months.  I did not lose any weight either.

I'd have to say the "soup" diet was the worst and believe me I've tried many.

Not the 'worst' diet as I was successful, but defintely not healthy.  I call it the cereal and beer diet.  I would eat minimally during the day and have a bowl of cereal ad a couple of beers usually after I worked out at the gym for an hour.  Lost 80 lbs tho.
