Concord Sam's Club - No CIB NSA

No luck!  A few of us in the PRH Program have been looking for a source for a large box of CIB NSA variety.  I thought my local Sam's Club might but they don't.  Too bad.  Anyone else know of a place that carries it?  We're looking for a large pack for $ savings (not the 6/box).  Thanks - Treading

Neither the BJ's in Hooksett nor the one in Salem have the sugar free.

Amazon.com sells the canisters at a lower price per serving than what I've been spending atthe grocery store, so at least that's a teeny bit of a savings.

I'd love to hear if anybody's found it cheaper anywhere else!

I was so excited that I found the variety pack that I haven't even thought about it.  I have not seen anything but the 6 pack around the Rochester/Nottingham area.  I have actually switched to the Whey protein.  It is much cheaper, and I think it tastes the same or better. You can get a large container at walmart for $18.00

For the first few weeks after surgery, they'll want you to use the CIB and add the whey protein so that you get the nutrients and protein that you need.  I actually add powedered milk and whey protein to the CIB in order to meet the surgeon's requirements.

Which kind of whey have you been using?  I've only tried the one-  EAS brand.  Now that I"ve found it and like it, I'm afraid to try anything else!  LOL!

I have been using the Body Fortress.  It is good.  I really like the cookies and cream!!  Something different.  Where do you get the EAS brand?  I can only find it in the ready to serve, which is really expensive!

Hi
I have surgery on 8/26.  When I read the book and talked to Nancy they said the hospital will give you CIB during your stay, but once discharged you could choose your own as long as it fell within the guidelines.  I have been using the RTD Atkins, I bought a lot of them at Wal Mart when they had them on sale  6 pack for $4.95 to $5.95, but now that they are not selling the 6 pack anymore I'll get them a BJ's the price is $15.99 for a 12 pack or $12.99 when they are on sale.  If anyone is looking for the Beneful fiber it is currently on sale at BJ's 190 serving bottle for 14.99.
Good Luck

Rechecked the bottle as it did not sound right.  It's Benefiber that's on sale not Beneful (dogfood?).  Hope this helps

Plus all the protein powders have WAY more protein than the CIBs.  And I thought CIBs were a little TOO sweet.  Course, could be cause I've been off sugar for awhile now.  Also CIBs have much higher calories than what I use for my protein shakes.  I made the mistake of buying a CASE of vanilla SF CIBs, and after the first week or so post-op I figured out this protein powder thing and haven't used them since.  So now I'm stuck with about six boxes still of the CIBs.

I'm on my fourth brand of protein powder, and I ordered samples of three other different brands from vitalady.  I won't buy a whole tub anymore if I don't know if I like it, but I do keep trying different ones.  I am looking for the perfect mix of tasty, high protein and low carb, affordable, and something I can find locally.  So far I've got two or three of those but I've yet to find something that meets all four.

If I find everything else I was looking for in life except the perfect protein powder, I guess I'm lucky.  ;-)

Lord, give me stregth and when I lack it, patience.

That works out to be $5.50 a box, unless I divided wrong.  I don't remember what it costs in the grocery stores around here.  The number $4.79 sticks out in my head for some reason.  I'll check next time I am out.

I wish they sold the NSA strawberry by itself in a box.  I LOVE that flavor, but I can't stand the vanilla, so the assorted box is just a waste for me.  Oh well!!

I buy the EAS in powder form.  I had actually gotten it at wal mart on the clearance rack- a two pound canister for $2.50 (when it retailed for $21 at the time!)  I got REALLY REALLY lucky!  I wish I had bought both canisters that were there at the time!  LOL!  I just replenished my stock yesterday at BJ's.  It was $34 for a five pound bag of the powder, which is 76 servings.  Now that I am progressing toward real food, I will probably cut back on how much protein powder I add to my drinks.
