Question about incision "SuperGlue"

I've been very careful with them while showering, but the superglue stuff over my incisions is starting to pull up at the edges.  I know that I'm supposed to just let them fall off at their own pace, but I want to make sure that I'm not ahead of schedule.  Anyone know about how long this stuff lasts?

You are right on schedule.  I had the same exact concerns-  in fact, the one at the top was bothering me so much that I went to Target and bought some HUGE bandaids to put over them (mostly to keep ME from picking at them.)

When they do come off completely (in the next day or so), you will be absolutely amazed at how well you have healed.  That stuff is amazing!

I was really freraked out by it though, because I thought as it peeled off, the scab would come off, the wound would open up, and all sorts of mayhem would ensure (like organs falling out through the holes and whatnot!)  LOL!

We are too much alike!  I pictured losing organs, too!

When I went for my first visit with Dr. L after surgery it was 12 days post op. He looks at my incisions and says you're all healed you can scrub the glue off. I told him they said do not touch them just let them fall off themselves. He said you can scrub it off now. I told him I follow directions.
I was a little embarassed.

Hi Neener:
The same thing is going on with me but it's suppose to.  If I hadn't had laproscopy surgery before I wouldn't have known.  My top incision is going to take the longest to heal.  Another good sign is if the incision is itchy.  That's a good sign that they're healing.

Well now, this is interesting.  I had my son via C-section just 4 years ago and they were still using Steri-strips.  I just assumed that is what was used in lap surgeries.  My how quickly things change.
