QOTD: 8/1 What's your favorite thing about NH in the summer?

What are some of your favorite things about New Hampshire in the summertime?

Hi C,
I love the water.  I love being able to go to my favorite swimming holes and walk or jump into river water that is clean and beautiful on a sweltering hot evening.  I love being tough enough to brave the ocean water once it warms up enough not to freeze my feet off.  I love our bountiful beautiful lakes and  streams.  I really love going out in our rubber raft with the dogs.  It has a little egg beater battery powered motor and we put along and enjoy the scenery and watch the birds.  But its the water that I think of when I think of summer.  Treading

I love listening to the birds in the mornings and late evenings.  I also love the lakes and streams, and the smell of the ocean.

Having been brought up spending summers and weekends on Merrymeeting Lake, that has to be what I love the most.  But I also love flower and vegetable gardening and being able to go out to our garden after work and get our veggies for dinner right in the back yard.  Sometimes, they go from the garden to the hose to the grill and never even make it into the house until they're on the platter ready to be eaten!
