Goodwill store

Ever since Treading mentioned her visit to the goodwill store to buy clothing in smaller sizes, I had been wanting to check it out for the same reason.  I didn't find any clothing, but I DID find some smaller plates!

When I read the book Mindless Eating, I realized that the plates we use every day are HUGE, which leads to overeating.  I got rid of the huge plates, and bought smaller plates.  Now that I've had my surgery, I was thinking even smaller plates were in order (just for myself.)  I bought four of them and spent a dollar total!

I think they were the saucers for teacups, because they don't look like they've been used at all.  They also had some really pretty china pattern, but it was a little too prissy for my personality.

Has anybody else ever found any good goodwill bargains?

Hey C,
I'm sorry you didn't find any clothes.  The Concord Goodwill is very well organized.  I had to pick thru but I managed to find several nice items.  I wasn't really able to come up with matched sets though.  I figure I'll just pop in at every chance and grab what I like.  Everything i bought was 4.99 or less.  Works for me.  Treading

WE have a Salvation Army store near my work that I checked out.  I was amazed at what they had, and the prices were very low.  Haven't checked out the goodwill store yet. Will let you know

I have never had the pateince to look through the racks.  I think that's my problem.  My mother was the thrift store queen, and I always HATED going with her!!

The Goodwill store in Londonderry looks like it has the clothing well organized by size, but every time I pulled something from the size 18 area, it ended up being a teeny tiny size 2 or something.  Very frustrating!!!

I will definitely check back every few weeks though.  I couodln't believe the books they had!  It makes sense though-  I mean, I usually drop off my new books as soon as I am done reading them.
