What's one thing you miss or THINK you will miss after surgery?

Or, what's one thing you THOUGHT you'd miss, but don't?

Why wouldn't you be able to have steamers?  I would think they would be a great source of protien.

I had them the other day, and thought to myself that the bodies are okay, but I would probably not be able to get the necks down.  What does anyone else think?

I think I will miss going out the door without  a thought for what I will eat (when, where or what).  I've never done that often but sometimes we have a bunch of errands to run or a  favor to do and so we just go and eat whatever-whenever.  It is easy.  No more of that though.  I am resolved and dedicated to the fact that my meals are now planned and balanced.  No more winging it.

Dunkin donuts----donuts.  You know they say America runs on Dunkins?  No, Michelle does not run well on Dunkin's.  I gave up dunkins and lost 7lbs without any other diet modification.  sigh.  I do love a maple frosted....or a jelly stick....or oh heck, that is the problem.  I have not met a donut I don't like!

But, my new mantra is going to be:  Nothing tastes as good as thin feels.  I will post it on my mirror, on my fridge door, on my steering wheel!

I too think I will miss our dunkin donut run (I prefer boston cream myself.)  And I really thought I would miss Coke, but I haven't so far.  I swear, I drank a twelve pack the week before my surgery, since I knew I'd never be able to have it again.

At least with the donuts, if I really wanted a small bite, I could have one, but soda is completely off limits.

I will keep repeating my positive self talk.  And I have to admit that after a week of eating very little, I have WAY more energy than I ever had before!  I don't feel lethargic like I used to.  Obviously, my body needs a lot less fuel than I was giving it on a daily basis.
