PRH folks: "Typical" stay time in hospital
I didn't have my surgery at PRH; it was a Tufts in Boston. But I was scheduled for late afternoon. I think I finally went in around 4:30, so I was in the hospital for 2 nights in all. One piece of advice for you. When they try to get you out of bed, do it. I begged them not to make me get up right away because I was in so much pain, but I really paid for it later that first night. I should have gotten up when they wanted me to. Because then when I was ready and needed to get up about 6 hours later, there was no one to help me, so I had to wait, and that was the worst!

Hi Jenn,
As you know I am pre-op so I can only speak from research and experience of other surgeries. For lap rny I always read to expect 2-5 days as an average range with most being in for 3 nights. From there it is very personal, your relative health, age, and so on. Gens told me to plan on 3-4 nights. Of course, I have several medical issues and a history of being slow to recover and some reactions to meds. Regardless of all else, you must be taking in fluids, producing urine and (...so on) before you will be discharged. Treading
