QOTD: What are you doing this weekend? (7/19)

Ugh- it's hot and humid outside. How are you spending your time?


Me? I am cleaning out the cupboards and getting my kitchen ready to support my life after surgery (which happens on Wednesday.) I THOUGHT I had already cleared all the bad stuff out, but my town is having a big food drive next weekend, so I thought I'd go through and grab a few things to donate. I found tons and tons of outdated things to throw out, but at least the cupboards are cleaned now! I'll spend more time organizing them between today and tomorrow.

I'm spending the weekend at my camper at an RV park not too far from home.  Last night we sat around the bar with family and friends that also camp there most weekends in the summer.  DH and I are still cleaning it and setting things up - we just got it last weekend - but it's a lot of fun.  I'm posting from home, though, because we forgot some things and had to run home.  This afternoon is a cookout, then tonight is a benefit dance/potluck/karaoke event for a woman there who was diagnosed with cancer.  The whole place is like one big family!  Tomorrow is more camping, then visiting DH's mom.

Sounds like you had a busy weekend too! It was funny to run into you at the grocery store tonight! LOL!

Well, at 7 PM Sunday night, it's more like what I did...

Aside from my chores, I went through all of my books and resources to make a "WLS To Do List" and a " WLS To Buy List".  Better Living Through Lists is my mantra!  LOL.  I am 8 weekends from surgery so it is finally time for me to begin purchasing (foods and vitmains and such like that) and making arrangements and all that good stuff.  Took the whole weekend but I have my lists so I am happy.  Treading

What kinds of things are on your list? I need to go out and buy a heating pad, but I think I have everything else all ready.

I had a great weekend.  JC Penney was having a sale, and I was at the door at  8 a.m. on Saturday.  I got quite a lot of bargains.  Then DH and I, along with our dog and our daughter's dog (we're pet-sitting this week) went to my Mom's on the lake for the rest of the weekend.  Today, a friend came up and fished a bit with DH.  My aunt and uncle from Florida came for the day, and another friend was there as well.  This other friend makes and sells jewelry, and I bought myself 3 necklaces, 2 pairs of earrings and a bracelet.  Then I saw some earrings with horses on them and thought of my 13 year old niece, who has a horse that she loves.  She also loves jewelry.  So I bought those earrings for her, and my friend is going to make a matching necklace.  Voila!  My first Christmas gift purchased - LOL!  We've just gotten home and unpacked.  Now I'm going to bed!

wow- you had a busy weekend!!! I was at Target first thing this morning when they opened becuase I wanted to get a Wii Fit. I was pretty far back in the line, but I ended up getting one!

I've heard a lot about them.  Have you used yours yet?  How do you like it?

I opened the box but haven't done anything else with it. I thought SURE that my husband would be curious and try it out, but he has a cold and just sort of lounged around yesterday.

I guess I won't have a chance to try it out until after my surgery- but I'll let you know as soon as I use it!

It just occurred to me that you're going in for surgery on Wednesday!  OMG that is so exciting.  You must be so anxious.  I know everything's going to work out great.  Your new life is about to begin.  Hang on cuz it will be quite a ride!
