Approval Letter In Hand!!
I got home very late last night from a Boston hospital after having a nerve block procedure done on my lower back. It was a long and not very pleasant day of medical stuff. And there was the letter from Anthem BCBS - I am approved for gastric bypass surgery! I couldn't jump up and down (can't do that cuz of my rotten back) and I wasn't in much of a mood for celebrating BUT I was still very pleased. Sometimes you have to walk into the fog to get to the clear skies and that is how I view my surgery in September. For the record - I saw Gens on Monday, June 23rd. My packet was submitted to insurance on Wednesday, July 2nd and I got my letter on July 9th. I will be setting up my surgery date with Gail tomorrow. I think the week of Sept 15th looks good to me. So now I need to be vigilant so that I get my remaining stuff set up (2nd apt with Gens, blood work, anethesia ets) with the minimum number of 3 hour trips from home to PRH. Thanks to my pre-op support buddies for the tips on that!
