Approval Letter In Hand!!

I got home very late last night from a Boston hospital after having a nerve block procedure done on my lower back.  It was a long and not very pleasant day of medical stuff.  And there was the letter from Anthem BCBS - I am approved for gastric bypass surgery!  I couldn't jump up and down (can't do that cuz of my rotten back) and I wasn't in much of a mood for celebrating BUT I was still very pleased.  Sometimes you have to walk into the fog to get to the clear skies and that is how I view my surgery in September.   For the record - I saw Gens on Monday, June 23rd.  My packet was submitted to insurance on Wednesday, July 2nd and I got my letter on July 9th.   I will be setting up my surgery date with Gail tomorrow.  I think the week of Sept 15th looks good to me.  So now I need to be vigilant so that I get my remaining stuff set up (2nd apt with Gens, blood work, anethesia ets) with the minimum number of 3 hour trips from home to PRH.  Thanks to my pre-op support buddies for the tips on that!

How exciting!!! You'll be able to get everything scheduled in time. It's amazing how quickly things move once the insurance approval comes through.

Conngratulations on getting your approval.  You have just overcome the toughest hurdle in the whole process as far as I'm concerned.  I'll start moving over on the loser's bench because you'll be there in no time!

Yippee!! Congratulations. You are on your way. You will be so happy you made this decision. It will be here before you know it. My mother always said - "Once July 4th comes the summer is over". As I get older I think she might have been right. Summer 2008 is going to go out with a bang for you.

Rosemary - LOL!  My mom says the exact same thing about the 4th of July!  And I agree with you.  I used to laugh at her, but it seems, as I get older, I think she's right.  Have a great day.

Thank you, Ladies!     Yes, it will be a very special September, indeed.  It is so much easier to do this with such good, positve folks like you ahead and leading the way.  No one talks about this being easy but the concition you express of how worhtwhile it is, really speaks volumes.  I'm coming along behind and looking forward - Treading

Thank you, Thank you - Yes, we are a jolly group at PRH and our fantastic forum friends, too!  Jenn, we may well be very close in date.  I'm waiting for confirmation but my surgery date is tentatively set for September 16th.  I could have gotten September 2nd but I wanted a few extra weeks.  I've been so exhausted by the process and all the back problems that I can't be ready and rested in so short a time.  Truth is, I hate rushing!  But mid-Sept is a glorious time of year and I'll enjoy the cooler weather.  Thanks again - Treading
