Meeting Dr. Paciulli tomorrow - help!
I'm all set and I wasn't even nervous until I decided to print out driving directions...and realized that I don't know where I'm supposed to go! I'm fairly sure that I have to go to Atlantic Surgical Associates on Borthwick Ave. Can anyone confirm this for me? You'd think this would have been information that I would have asked before the eleventh hour...
Help please?

For your initial two meetings with the surgeons you go to Atlantic Surgical Associates in the office building across the street from the hospital (Borthwick Ave). For your post-surgery follow up visits you meet at Nancy's office at the hospital. It was confusing for me, too.
Did you do your classes and support group at Portsmouth or Derry?
Best of luck!

It's really easy to find. I was nervous and gave myself an hour and a half to get there the first time. The mapquest directions were perfect. Needless to say, I ended up with a LOT of extra time!! (Not to mention the fact that she was running forty minutes late when I saw her the first time.)
She'll talk to you for a few minutes, then poke around your belly a bit (loking for hernias, etc.) and then you'll be on your way. The office will send in your insurance approval request letter right after your appointment, and then you'll be on your way.)
As soon as your approval comes through, they'll call you to schedule a follow up meeting with her and they'll probably be able to schedule your surgery too!

Thanks to all of you for your help and well-wishes. The appointment went smoothly. I was racking my brain for questions - I've learned so much from this site, the support groups, the books I've read, the people I've talked with, EMMI...I really didn't have many questions. I didn't want Dr. Paciulli to think that I wasn't engaged. After the few feeble ones that I could come up with, I finally apologized and tried to explain that I've done so much research that there wasn't much left uncovered. She assured me that it wasn't a job interview and having no questions for her was OK. Of course, she was right. I'm a goober sometimes.
Lastly, she asked me if I'd rather plan to stay overnight or not. Since I didn't have a strong feeling either way, she suggested we plan for an overnight stay since home is about an hour drive. This will give her a little more time to make sure I'm fit to leave. I told her that I was SO good with doing whatever made her job easier and would contribute to a successful surgery.
Actually, lastly, she asked if she got me all fixed up in time for my trip to Aruba would I take her with me. I assured her that I have a big suitcase I could fit her in.
So, I'm back into another hold pattern. I have BCBS insurance, so I'm hoping that they follow the normal pattern that I've seen for them and get back to the surgeon's office quickly. Moving right along!

I have BCBS (federal) and I swear, it felt like it took forever! I hope yours comes through quickly so you can get your show on the road.
That's cool that she'll try to schedule you so you can stay overnight. I asked for an afternoon slot so that I could (due to childcare issues), but they put me at 7 am instead!
I'm glad everything went well. Was the office noisy? I could not WAIT to get out of there this morning, because the construction work was giving me a headache!
