Hello Good People,  Well, I met Dr. Gens yesterday, late afternoon.  Everything went very well and he didn't demand that I show him my Blue Book (still missing) so I was relieved!  LOL.  As so many have said, Gens is easy to talk with and he took his time and we went through things very slowly and thoroughly. DH was with me and he felt good about things, too, so that is a plus.

So now I do the insurance approval dance and I shoudl be able to pick my September date very soon.  I've lost 18 lbs since my intial weigh in and I am required to lose 11 lbs.  Actually, I've lost 31 lbs in the past year which pleased Gens no end.  I'm highly motivated to reduce my surgical risks.  Now, I just have to maintain for a few more months.   Well, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.  Hope you all have a great day-Treading

GETTING CLOSER ALL THE TIME -YEAH FOR YOU!!!!!! Isn`t Dr. Gens the sweetest???                  When I had my ER visit , I was so scared I told him I was going to find where he lives and camp out near him till I felt better.          Ha---he wouldn`t give me his address!!!

That is great news! Just think how fast our summers go by, September will be here before you know it. Gosh next week is the 4th of July! I'm glad you didn't get 30 lashes for the missing blue book :) I felt the same way about being in the best shape possible fir surgery and I think it helped. Keep us posted.

Thank you Ladies!    It is such a great thing to hear from Gens' patients and in such a good way.  I know what  rough first week you had, Jen, and still you can be positive about him - priceless!  I am doing all I can to prepare and to be healthy but it is never a garuntee that things will go perfectly.  No, complications do happen and the first few weeks and months can be very rough.  I keep that right at the front of m,y mind.  But for now, I am pleased and so glad to have so many hurdles behind me.  I've been too busy lately to enjoy the roses and that is no way to live.  So, I am trying to focus on the path but with an eye for the flowers on the side of the raod.  Thanks so much - Treading

That is so wonderful!  Keep up the great work - September will be here in no time!  And you need to stop and smell the roses occasionally, for your sanity!

It's good that you've gotten everything done. I hope your insurance approval comes through quickly so you can choose your date and start your count down.
