..are not friends and it only took 3 tiny bites to realize this. Not feeling hungry and thinking to eat and drink is like an out of body experience. The protien shakes are getting easier to get down. Today is one week post - op. I am feeling much better. Went out today and walked BJs, Target and Toys R Us. I must admit I was a bit freaked by the egg thing and will wait until tomorrow to try something else - maybe cottage cheese.

Hi Rosemary,     My mother was a trooper.  I was the last of way too many and she did a pretty good job of making me feel like it was all brand new to her.  LOL.  Now I read what you say that you don't have hunger and you really have to think to eat and drink.  I read it and I know I have read it from other post-ops sand so I take it on faith.  I have to because it still seems, frankly, sort of unbelievable!    I am eating a healthy, low carb, high protein diet and I have been doing this for a year.  I've lost 20 lbs which is great.  But I have been kicking the same 5 lbs around for 3 months now.  I'm stalled and I have to either up the exercise or cut down my portions and I can't seem to cut back the portions at all.  I always feel so hungry.  But I listen to you and I take it on faith that the surgery will make that change.      I'm so glad you are feeling better.  Too bad about the eggs but I think they are a problem food for many.  The advice is to give them a break and try again in a week or two.  Good luck with the cottage cheese.  Take good care - Treading

Hi Rosemary, I'm glad to hear that you're feeling better and getting out.  I just wanted to tell you that I ate egg beaters and Canadian bacon every single day pre-op.  Can't seem to get them down at all since my surgery, but I can eat real eggs.  Weird, huh?  You  may find these kinds of "problems" with other foods too as you go along.  As far as cottage cheese, I also wanted to tell you that my absolute favorite cottage cheese is Hood Light with Pineapple and Cherries.  Delish!!!!! Oddly enough, when I told Jaquie (the NUT) that I throw up egg beaters (I tried twice when I was about as far out as you) she asked me if I tried real eggs.  I said of course not.  She said some people dump because they are high in fat but I should try one if I wanted to.  I had no problems.  So from about two weeks out I could do one egg, but to this day (about 2-1/2 months out) I STILL throw up egg beaters.  I heard everyone is different, but I guess my pouch has some weird anti-eggbeaters thing.  :-) --Umber.

Lord, give me stregth and when I lack it, patience.
