6/9 QOTD: What's your first thought upon waking in the morning?
Well, my very first thought is always, "Do I have enough time to hit the snooze button again?" My first productive thought lately has been whether I have enough time to get ready and get my butt out of the house early enough so I can walk to work or whether I'll have to drive. This week, it's all about driving!
"I am not the skin I'm in, but the soul within."
I get up the same time every day, whether the alarm is on, or not. Well, pretty much, anyway. First thought is usually something along the lines of "do I work today or not?". I work every other weekend, so sometimes Saturday/Sunday are workdays and sometimes not. Once I get that sorted out in my mind (sometimes that takes minute!), then it's usually something along the lines of looking forward to weighing in to see if I've lost anything (yes, I weigh myself every day and yes, I know this is not considered a healthy thing). For me, weighing in puts a level of accountability in there for me that's not there when I weigh once a week or monthly. It keeps my mind on making the choices that will drive the scale down. I don't get upset if the scale goes up and sometimes it can go up a pound and a half or two in one day but then it always comes down. This helps me to understand and respect the natural fluctuations of my body.
Anyway that's what runs in the hamster wheel in my head first thing in the morning. Have a wonderful day.
