Down but not out
Hey there folks! Not long ago I posted about how disappointed I was when I was told I didn't qualify for WLS. Today is a new day. I gave it quite a bit of thought and and decided that this was too big an issue to just give up without a fight. I saw my PCP for a physical today. I officially have HTN, not just boarderline high, and am starting on meds. Apparently I have a B/P that is very difficult to hear, per my PCP, which may explain why my B/P readings have being all over the place. I'm a nurse and I monitor my pressure so I knew the medical assistant's numbers were way off today (she got 106/74 and it was actually 130/100!) My labs also confirm hyperlipidemia. So, I have a BMI of 37.3, a co-mo of hypertension which is being treated w/ medication, and the cholesterol which is not being treated w/ medication. I'll try to call HP tomorrow and get a more specific answer as to what they require for BMI and co-mos. Hopefully I can get a clearer answer than last time. Anyone who cares to cross their fingers and wish me luck is welcome to! ~Donna
