Hooray For Support Groups!
Hello,
Last night's pre-op support group meeting in Derry was, IMHO, a terrific experience. I get so many good things from every meeting and I always leave feeling encouraged and ....supported. Oh, I also feel very grateful so here's a general 'thank you" because I really appreciate this community. Have a good day - Treading
I have to agree with you, Treading. I really got a lot out of it too. As a double-bonus, the Behavior Mod class (my final one!) was really good, too. Dr. W encouraged all of us to continue to come to support groups after surgery - including "guesting" at the pre-op meetings once we're post-op. I live so close to the hospital, they may just have to ask me to STOP coming.

I've really gotten a lot out of the support group meetings too. I look forward to them.
It's neat the way things work out. My husband used to work in Boston, which meant I would have to hire a babysitter so I could go to the meetings. But then he got a transfer so he's closer to home, which means he can easily make it home from work in time for me to attend the meetings. They're so motivational to me.
I'm so happy that I've had a chance to meet other people who are going through the same thing, and to hear different opinions and everything.
