I really am excited....
I know all programs work a little different. At DHC in Manchester you have to have all your eggs in a row and counted and double counted before they ever let you actually have an appointment with a 'real person' from the Surgery dept. This means all pre-op testing done, all your notes from your primary in, your 10 lb. wt. loss documented and maintained....then it takes about a month to get in.
Well, this has been about a year since starting with them and today I had my first meeting with Linda Tate the nut. and I have a meeting with the RN next week and then a meeting with the doc in two weeks...........and I should be good to go.
All I can say is that I am still stunned. I have been researching this for five years, she didn't tell me anything I didn't already know---but it sure was good to finally be in the surgery center and talking with a real person!
Wahoo.

Good for you, Michele.
It does seem like the impossible dream at times. Surely, no other medical procedure has such a screening process? And I completely agree that all this prep work and screening is needed - but it is still rather exhausting. But now you're on the down hill side. A rootin' for ya! Treading
