stupid question

So every once in while I see posts with asteriks in place of letters in the words and I can't figure out why.  From the rest of the sentence, it's obvious it's not a swear word but yet it seems like it's being censored.   Why? Ann

I've seen it in other message boards, so I assume its' the same here. The filters are set up to catch curse words and words that are close to beind curse words.

So if you type weigh****chers but don't leave a space between the two words, it sees the middle part of the word as a bad word and blocks it out.

It's kinda funny sometimes.
