When was the last time you took a road trip? Where did you go? What were your favorite parts?

I grew up with a family who road tripped all the time. We used to drive across the country every other year to visit family, and I have to admit that I HATED it... and yet now that I am a mom, I am planning our first family road trip! LOL!

We're going to drive south to MD to visit my family, then to Kitty Hawk and the outer banks of NC, then to Savannah, GA, and then on to Disney for a few days, then back up through Atlanta, Asheville, NC, PA (to visit more family), then Albany, and then back to NH. We're planning on spending a day or two in each location.

It will be a three week trip sometime after the next school year, so I will be more than a year out of surgery. I'm hoping to find a waterpark or two to visit, because I plan on being significantly smaller by then!

Let's see the longest road trip I've taken was back in 1999. Bill and I drove to Michigan to visit his sister. We stopped in Niagra Falls for a couple of days on the way. I actually like road trips - I'm not a fan of flying but I know it's something you have to do if you want to travel and only have so much time. I've always wanted to drive the coast of California. Maybe someday :)

I LOVE road trips! The last one was I guess Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun a few weekends ago. I won $500 bucks! Planning on another trip soon next weekend down there I think and also to Brattleboro, VT cousins college graduation.

A year ago this past Christmas, my husband bought me a GPS so one Friday night last March, my youngest daughter (21 yrs. old) and I got in the car, plugged in the address for the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY, and just followed the directions.  It was a blast.  There wasn't much open up there in March, but the Hall of Fame was open and a couple of breweries, which we toured.  The best part was the quality time I got to spend with Holly.  I wish I could have done it with both of my daughters, but we take what we can get!

That sounds like so much fun! I love having a GPS to take along with me when I am going into an unfamiliar area.

Oh, hands down THE ultimate road trip was last summer!  I got my CDL-A  (commercial driver's license) and DH, the dog, and I drove our semi cross country.  We covered about 18 states between NH and CA.  Some couples couldn't stand that much togetherness, but we loved it!  It's an amazing way to see an amazing country! ~Donna
