I have to have lab work done 1-2 days before surgery, which means this weekend. Did anyone else at PRH have to do this? Surgery is Monday!!!

Yup, I had to do it.  I don't remember exactly why...but I do remember it had to be within a couple days of surgery.  Good luck on Monday!! Who's your surgeon?  Becky

Yup, sure did.  The last minute lab work is no big deal.  It's jut like, one vial I think.  I had surgery on a Tuesday and they had the last minute blood test on Monday.  But it's not nearly as much blood as they did the other times they did a work up on you there.   Monday!  Getting nervous yet?  Excited?

Lord, give me stregth and when I lack it, patience.

Everyone needs to be blood typed and crossmatched for antibodies no more than two days before the surgery.  This is because your antibodies can change, and if you need blood, you want an exact match.
