More appointments Made
I spent some time on breaks and lunches getting more appointments made.
Tomorrow (Saturday) I have the first appt for my psych eval with Pete Costa. Anyone use him? What questions do they ask at the psych eval? The second one is next Saturday.
Wednesday morning I will have my EKG - and on the way, I'll get my blood lab work done.
May 13th is my appointment with the nutritionist (RD).
June 19th is my physical with my pcp and another appt with Dr Finnachiaro (sp?) the internist there at the Obesity Center.

I called the ask a nurse to register for it. They forward your information to Bedford Counseling and they will call me when the next course is starting. I bet it won't hurt for you to call now to make sure you get registered for it.
You said you're going to the support group on the 12th? We should arrange to try and meet beforehand.

Good idea about the lifestyle course. I'll give them a call on Monday. I think it's a great idea to meet before the suport group. Would you like to do coffee at the hospital before the meeting, or did you have something else in mind? I'm open to suggestions. Hope your appointment today (I think you said it was today?) goes well. Oh, and I love the new avatar! Adorable! I've got pix of my fuzzy monster on my profile, just in case you haven't seem them. ~Donna
that is great that you are moving right along... I hope your appointment with the psych doctor went well today!!
I usually attend the pre-=op meetings as well...jacqui likes to have some post ops there.
I hope your journey continues smoothly!!

The Psych Eval went fine - just lifestyle questions. Not like the past pysch evals I 've had (due to child custody/divorce trial). I was shocked the hour went by so quickly!
Nicole -- anything special you did to lose the 90 lbs! Congratulations on making it to goal in 9 months! I can't wait to be there with you. I have a goal in mind of 130 lbs -- so that means I need to lose 116lbs. At least 12 of thse need to be preop.

May challenge 95/400 minutes
I was 250 pounds on the day of surgery. I have not done anything special except for follow all the bands rules. I do not drink with my meals. I always wait 30 minutes after a meal to eat. It took a little to get used to but it is second nature now.
I avoid breads, pizza, steak, rice, hot dogs and pasta. I have heard alot of horror stories about these these particular foods so I just assume stay away from them. I do miss my bread so I sometimes have a half a piece of toast.
I exercise faithfully Monday through Friday. I give myself the weekends off. I enjoy going to the gym now. I even run at night wth my husband.
Once you are able to find your proper restriction with fills, you will not want to eat as much or as often. It may take several fills so be patient.
If you have any questions, let me know...again...i am at the support groups as well.

What a great inspiration you are to all of us! Congrats on your reaching goal! Woo-hoo!!!! Sounds like you are doing about what I have set out for my own plan of action and it's good to hear it is working so well for someone. My first appointment w/ the OTC is on May 20th. Right now I'm working on forming good habits (daily walk, eating only 3 meals and no snacks, things I'll have to do after lap-band surgery) without losing any weight. Until I get my official weight I'm not sure how much I'll have to lose. Even though I've been severely obese for years, I'm close enough to the BMI of 35 to have to be careful to not diqualify myself from surgery. Getting right up to the edge and then being disqualified for losing too much weight (of all things!) would just stink! I'm planning on being at the pre-op support group on the 12th w/ Ann. Look forward to meeting you both! ~Donna
