Well, it seems like all these offices do things differently. At Dartmouth-Hitch**** manchester....you have to have all your ducks in a row in advance of seeing ANYONE from their office. That means: all your testing done, all your paperwork in place, all your weight lost (well, they only require 10 lbs....but that was tough enough!)....Then you wouldnt believe the issues I had getting this that and the other thing from my primary to their office. Then I would get a call that they wanted me to have a Stress Test, or they needed this document, or WHATEVER!
Well----almost ONE YEAR into this and I got the call today.
I have an appt. with the Nutritionist, the RN and the Surgeon all set up....that means probably mid July for surgery if everything goes well with the insurance. They are booking about 4 weeks from your meeting the surgeon (appt. on June 18th!).
Needless to say, I was pretty excited to get all that in place.
I see why they do it the way they do, but when I was doing this at CMC---you immediately met with the RN and Nutritionists....that was very motivating. Well, now when I meet---it is FULL STEAM AHEAD~!
Whew. Frothing at the mouth with verbage tonight!

I'm just curious. You started at CMC and changed to DH? Just wondering why you didn't stay at CMC. I had actually started things at CMC, too, but my insurance wouldn't cover the surgery there because it wasn't a "center of excellence." I ended up at Tufts in Boston because of it. No regrets either. Their program is great. But I think CMC's seemed okay too.
"I am not the skin I'm in, but the soul within."
Oh, my CMC story is a long one...
Readers digest version; Started the program, needed only my psych eval before meeting the doctor...the day of my evaluation---I found out I was pregnant. Ooops, no one told me that glucophage (because it lowers your overall insulin level) can make you more fertile! LOL
Seond try at CMC. After pregnancy. Met with them...have to start at square one basically because everything needs to be within a year. Two months later my husband was dx with cancer---the next year and a half was devoted for caring for him until his death.
So---then about 10 months after he passed away a friend of mine had surgery at DHC. She asked if I had ever thought about it...LOL. She got me on the DHC track really. I figured maybe a new start at a new place would be a better option for me. Melanie Davis over there had gone...so it wasn't like I was emotionally attached to the program there really. Nothing about the CMC program really....although having to lose only 10 lbs instead of 23 was quite appealing!
