Hello, I'm scheduled for lap-band surgery next month & I have a question to throw out to you... Has anyone ever heard of "sliming"? I heard it is specific to LB & is as difficult to bear as dumping syndrome is in the RNY procedure. I heard of it in passing & was wondering if anyone else has ever heard of it or experienced it. Any info would be appreciated, thanx. Linda

I had a band and having it replaced and in the thre years I been coming here I never heard of  Sliming. I suspect if it was as "bad" as dumping syndrom you would have heard about it in your info meetings. I think what someone might be referring to is regeritating food after you've swallowed it, diferent from vomiting because it comes from the pouch and not the stomach.

I asked on the LapBand forum and this is the answer I got: Sliming is a collection of saliva that occus when your stoma is stuck, it occurs to help move the obstruction If that doesn't work you PB (productive burping) which is regeratation until the stuff is moved.
