Things are looking up!

Thanks to a well timed & coordinated cancellation (THANKS C+C!) I'm now preregistered for the April 1st Informational Meeting at Parkland.  I have an appointment with my new PCP (Dr. Egenolf due to a recommendation from this very board) on the 8th, where I get to meet her and talk to her about my history & the reason why I want this surgery.  Hopefully she'll be on board.  Since she's brand new to me, I'm sure that we will have lots to talk about.

Then?  I haven't a clue.  Well, that's not true.  I know all the generalities that one can learn from books, the internet & this board, but I don't know anything specific about this program other the pre-op weight loss requirements and the fact that I SHOULD be able to fulfill all the requirements (except the psych appt and the surgery itself) locally.  I guess I'll get the skinny at the meeting next week.

Ha!  Skinny.  Get it?  Oh, I crack me up...

Anyway, I've actually went ahead and told all the people in my office (7 people) my plan.  I figure that they'll notice, and that it would be more effort to try to keep it quiet than it would be worth to me.  They all seem very supportive.  My friends all heard months ago when I decided it would happen when the financials were worked out, so now it's just updating them with the "Finally!"

So...

Basically, all that rambling was to let you all know that I'm really on my way and to say thank you all for your love & support.

Congrats on starting your journey!  It is sooo worth it!

How exciting!!  I'm glad you were able to get in to the earlier meeting.  I remember how frustrating it was to make up my mind to go for it, and then have to wait and wait and wait for the next meeting.  :)
