Got a date, told the family
So I am having surgery in Portsmouth on March 25th. Which is Tuesday after this coming.
So I finally called my sister, my mom & tommorrow I tell my best friend. My husband and four kids have helped all along with the prep and all appointments and all that. But I didn't want to tell anyone else until I knew it was a for sure - as long as there was a chance it wouldn't happen, I wanted to keep it on the down low. Also, I didn't want any advice from people who have never had a weight problem and know nothing about the proceedure. Support, I'll need. But I needed to make the decision on my own.
I am, of course, anxious and excited and nervous and impatient at this point. And TRYING to resist Last Supper Syndrome. And trying to speed time up. And making sure I have everything as ready as I can - ie. freezing food for the family ahead of time to make it easier on DH, etc.
If anyone is going to the Monday Portsmouth support group this month I will be there and really, really keyed up, as I am scheduled to arrive at Portsmouth Hopsital at 7am the next day. Anyone want to help me get my measurements? Hugs and encouraging words also welcome!!!!
I got my before pictures but since they are in my underclothes I'm NOT posting them till I get some after pictures to go with. We did the whole front, side, back thing. I wanted to them see the difference, to be able to accurately remember how embarassing it was at my size and to see how much different - ie. better - it is later. Oddly enough, though, it just put hubbie in the mood. So I'm totally self concious and getting the "bad" before pictures. And my hubbies thinking....
Congratulations!!! I don't know if I'll be at the meeting or not, but that will be a great time to ask any last minute questions. Dr. Gens assisted in my surgery and he was great when he came to see me the next morning. See you on the losers bench!

If I can get there on the 24th, I'll look for you. Good luck! You might want to keep it on the down low until after you have the surgery for the general public. Everyone knows someone who had the surgery and they have some really interesting stories, a lot of which probably aren't accurate.
See you on the 24th!!
