I'm hoping to be moving by the end of the month.  We're still waiting on the official paperwork/orders so we can get going.  Once I get them I hope to be gone within two weeks. And thank you for the thanks!  15 yrs in (in oct) 5 more to retirement!  Yea! See you Monday.

It was a good meeting and you were missed.  Some topics covered were Hypoglycemia (Low Blood Sugar), eating only protein bars or not eating much at all, and this website (gee I don't know who put a plug in for that!).  I hope we will see more people posting.

Forgive me Im new... Do the RNYer's have from 530-630 then get booted and the lap banders take over?  Why don't we all just have one big meeting?  There seemed to be many lap banders in the first half anyway.  Just curious.  Doesn't bother me either way just didn't know what the reason was.

Well, there's a lot of differences between RNY and Lapband.  Like that stuff they talked about, "Sliming"?  That doesn't happen to us.  I think they do it so that each group can concentrate on what their specific concerns are.  Like, there's a group for those that are 18 months out, because their stuff is different from newbies.  The first group at 5:30 is for all postops.  I suppose if we asked and there was enough of a demand they would make a RNY one too.

Dr. Wagner told me that sometime it's frusterating for lap banders, since the process is slower for them, when they are in a RNY group.  And that sometimes it would frusterating to RNY-ers when we want to talk about food sensitivities, etc. since they don't have as much of that (dumping, nutrient absorbtion, etc).   I know I don't want to listen to a an hour long group discussion of fills, and I am sure they don't want to listen to an hour long group discussion on avoiding NSAIDS (aleve, asprin, etc.)

Lord, give me stregth and when I lack it, patience.

I gotcha.  Seems like there are a lot of RNYer's at the meetings.  Which is very cool to listen to others experience being that i am just two weeks out.  I hope next year I am sitting in a meeting asking  "how do i stop losing"!!!!    I wanted to go every month but my sched looks like ill miss next month bummer
