Hi - At that point I stopped reading too much about the surgery, etc.  If I kept reading, it made me more nervous.  I was working on picturing a positive outcome and that helped me relax.  And...I had a book and cd re: preparing yourself for surgery.  The cd was funny because you're supposed to listen to the whole thing and go through a guided meditation, but every time it made me fall asleep.  At least it relaxed me!!  You're in great hands with Dr. Pacuilli and the whole team - from the folks in pre-op through the nurses on the floor after everyone was great and helped with whatever we needed.  Good luck!!!

I'll be sending good thoughts and hoping all goes well for you.  Similarly , I was given a gift of a massage by a friend before I had a big sugery.  I booked it for the night before and it really helped me stay calm.  I also had asked for and been given a script for a week's worth of ambien or something like that.  I just knew sleeping would be difficult for me that last week.  I got home from my massage, showered, took my pill, and got a good night sleep.  Best of luck to you-Treading

Here's one out of the ordinary.  I underwent hypnosis twice the week before my surgery.  I have to tell you, I really think it made things much easier.  I've had surgery before, and I was amazed at how calm I was that day and how well I slept the night before.   Things are going to go great for you.  Try to focus on six months from now.  How do you think you're going to look?  How do you think you'll feel?  Won't it be AWESOME?! Good luck and post when you get home.
