Great inforamtion!  I love these forums and you good people.  I didn't think I had any use for a recipe book yet and you've given me the excellent insight into how wrong I may be.,  Of course, a peek at the yummy recipes will curb the fears of NEVER being able to that again.  Most excellent.    I agree wholeheartedly on the carbs.  I can tell all kinds of difference in my health when I eat low carb-and I do.  I have been using some of the no sugar added sweets and I have resolved to give them up (gradually).  As long as I am having 'something sweet' I am always looking forward to it, working towards it, and at risk of over-doing it.  And post-op I want to give myself the very best nutrition I can and them Russel Stover sugar-free chocolates ain't it!  I know from experience that after a good while without any processed and simple sugars, a piece of fruit seems incredibly sweet.  And an apple is real and good food.  That is my goal now-to get to the point where I look forward to, and work towards, an apple.  Treading

Funny story:  I got those three cookbooks I mentioned.  And since I'm still pre-op and my bypass mentor is at her one year post op anniversary, she borrowed my books before I even cooked anything from them.  She'll figure out what is worth getting her own copy of and before I'm off the all liquids diet I'll get them back.  :-)

Lord, give me stregth and when I lack it, patience.
