For anyone in the Nashua Area...
If you are looking for a support group in the Nashua area, Dr. Jeff Brown runs a group the third Wednesday of every month at Southern NH Medical Center. from 6:30 - 8 pm.
Dr. Brown was the Bariatric Surgeon at St. Joes and now is practicing at SNHMC. He no longer does Bariatrics but he does do follow up's for his patients from St. Joes. If you are a past patient of Dr. Drinkwater's at SNHMC you are so welcomed to come to our support group each month.
Right now it is a small group but we are hoping to get the word out and more post op's will attn.
The write up in the paper says that you should be 18 month out but Dr. Brown said that any post op's are welcomed. We do have some that had surgery in Boston and Portsmouth, that don't want to travel so far for support.
So please feel free to join us.
Hello again Kam,
feel free to PM me and I will give you my info and answer any questions you might have. I had RNY but there are so many types of surgeries out there now. I do have a friend that is on the Lap Band board alot. (she is my surgeons right hand) She had Lap Band done last July i think, and she looks amazing. I think she is down over 80 lbs with the band. I'm sure she would talk to you too. Our support group is mandated by the hospital for only people that have had WLS already.
They advertise that we should be 18 month out but Dr. Brown says as long as you have had WLS you are welcome. It's just a small group right now as allot of the patients don't attend or don't know about the group but each month we seem to get a few more so when you are ready you can surely join us.
I look forward to hearing from you and best wishes for a smooth journey.
