I am a patient of Dr. Looser. I have to say that anyone going through the program at Portsmouth Regional, they take such great care of you. I wish I could make some $$ off that statement, someone tell Nancy, will ya?? LOL
I had the band in Nov 05, and after many issues with my esophagus not being on board with my decision I had many upper GI's, endoscopes, and ultimately 2 more emergency surgeries. The cleanliness and care is . Dr Looser was so attentive, he even called me on my cell phone to check on me after a fill and scope... I was at Market Basket...LOL
Dr. Looser came in on his day off to care for me and my emergency removal, I was so sick, and he took ownership of me and I can't tell you how at ease that put me. Great caring program! For anyone going through them, I pray you have the same experience, they really work hard! I am working for revision to RNY and trust my life to them...*gulp*
Hello Deb,
My goodness, that is quite an endorsement when you can recommend a program despite so many problems. But that's the critical thing-to be in the care of folks *****psond when problems arise. Let's face it, lots of things can go wrong but having good care thorugh it all makes the difference. Hope you are feeling much better and best of luck with your RNY. I'm starting with PRH just now and I'm also looking at the RNY as the better choice for me. Take good care - Treading
Hi Deb,
Thanks for your very kind words about the program. I will definitely pass them along to the whole team knowing that it will make their day!
Also, just wanted to let everyone on the board know that the NH Medical and Surgical Weight Loss Center (the program partnership between Portsmouth Regional Hospital and Parkland Medical Center) is celebrating its 5th anniversary in 2008! Although a date isn't set yet, we're planning on holding a fun event sometime in the fall to celebrate ALL OF YOU: our past, current and future patients. That means, of course, that you all will be invited and we hope you can make it! As I get details about the celebration, I'll be sure to pass them along...
Best regards,
Grant Sanborn

Hi Grant, no problem, I love them! What do you do for the program?
Hi Deb,
I help do community outreach and marketing for the program (and hospitals), which I find really rewarding! On this message board, I do my best to help answer questions that are asked about the Portsmouth and Parkland program so everyone gets accurate, up-to-date information. So fire away if you have any feedback, questions or thoughts!
Best,
Grant

Well, my feedback is, everyone that handled me, the women in the OR pre and post, the nurses upstairs... every one of them is so valuable to that program and hospital, make sure they are well taken care of too, at a time when we (patients) are our most vulnerable, I felt like they cared about ME, whether they did or not is not important...LOL, but I sure do appreciate them and would gladly pay my out of network fee of 20% just to have that positive experience! Get these insurance companies onboard!!!! :o)
