Wow moments at Gunstock
Hi all,
I had 2 wow moments today that I wanted to share. I got new snowshoes a couple of weeks ago and went to the xc ski/snowshoe area at Gunstock today. When I bought my ticket the woman was telling me good trails, etc and one of the options she told me was to snowshoe up a small mountain that's part of the area.
As I was snowshoeing on an easy part it hit me that she looked at me and thought I was capable of snowshoeing up a small mountain! She could have just told me the easy trails, but she didn't - that was very cool.
And as I was going along I said to myself - well, if she thinks I can do it, I may as well try. So -- up I went!! It was a great hike and a great workout! I ended up being out there for 2 hours and I feel great tonight!
So...when life hands you snow...get out and play in it!

Hello and Howdy!
How wonderful for you. I could almost feel your lungs straining and your breath in the cold air. I should think the views were great and the feeling of accomplishment strong. I love the snow. I love to be in the woods. Before a few back surgeries, I was snowshoeing every weekend. For me, WLS is all about regaining mobility and chances to be active. In fact, that I love to be physically active was the factor that most convinced my doc that I'd be an excellent WLS candidate.
All that you write here seems to confirm your great joy in this outdoor lifestyle. More power and more health to you! Treading
