Hello Folks,     I've got a question about the PRH program.  I should have asked this at the info mtg last week but...  What does the Derry site do?  I know they hold support group meetings there but can I have other parts of my requirements taken care of there?  Can I get the PT, or psych eval, NUT appts, or behavior mod apts taken care of in Derry, too?      I know, I'll take a look at the website again but I'm betting you folks know already.  Thanks- Treading

Hi, Here is how the program works in partnership with Parkland Medical Center in Derry: Support group meetings are held in Derry.  Dr. Wagner does the behavior modification classes in Derry. For the initial individual psychological evaluation the patient needs to come to Dr. Wagner's office in Portsmouth.  Patients can work with Physical Therapy and Nutrition in Derry.  Nancy Seesman, the Program Coordination, is in Derry twice a month to meet with preoperative patients.  Preoperative testing such as lab tests and x-rays can be done in Derry. The surgery is only done at Portsmouth Regional Hospital. I hope this information helps! Hi Jen, Hi Grant,     I thought you might have the skinny (pun intended), Grant.  That is good news for me - location-wise being able to cut the number of trips to Portsmouth will be a big help.  At least I think it will.  Truth is, I haven't been to Derry in years.  I suppose the traffic from Concord t(my work) to Derry might be frightful?  But I suspect it has to be a bit shorter for me.  Has to.      Is the ride to PRH from Ossipee a killer, Jen?  For my own part, it's not the driving but the time out of work that is the issue for me.  It's having to take a half day for a 30 minute appt that is the killer for me.  And I'm sure I'm not alone here.  But that's life in rural NH, eh?  Not much but the local pizza joint is truly nearby.  OK, thanks again-Treading

Hi! I started going to Portsmouth then realised Derry is closer. lol So now I go to Derry for the modification classes-- I have one more left and I think I will be the only one there with Dr. Wagner on the 21st. lol Oh and thanks for the info. I didn't realise I could get other things done in Derry also. I'm coming from the Lakes Region almost by Plymouth so it's a bit of a drive but Portsmouth is actually further away (at least that's what I think)

Hi Jess,    Wow, you do have a ride no matter which way you go.  But I'm glad Derry saves you a few miles.  I'm going to meet with Nancy (Bariatric Coordinator) at 2:30 in Derry on the 21st.  I'm going to get weighed in.  I also have several questions for her.  And I'm glad I ask questions because I keep finding out that there's so much I don't know yet.    I was concerned about how long an approval is good for-how long it lasts.  Nancy was confused by my question so I explained that I didn't want to get approved too soon since I feel I need many months yet and the approval might expire before ................   Halt, Wait, Stop - I have it all wrong.  You go through their program and do all of the steps and only when you're done do you get approval and so usually you're ready for the surgery date by then!   Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, I didn't know that.    Glad I asked.  LOL.  Treading
