Introduction
And I'm supposed to go see Jacquie in Nutrition tomorrow! It should be an interesting ride.
I went to my first Support Group this past Monday in Derry. I'm planning to be a regular at Portsmouth, though. There were only three of us there, but it was nice to hear that some of the stuff I'm experiencing is normal.
Maybe I'll see you there next month.

Hi Shirley-
I had my RNY on 11/5/07. I am loving this decision and have been feeling really well.
I still have a tough time with some of my vitamins/pill sizes and am learning the hard way about eating tooo fast. What a terrible feeling THAT is!
I still wouldn't change a thing.
I live in Derry, but went through the Lowell General Program.
Feel free to drop me a line. Maybe we can compare notes and offer each other some support!

The first three weeks were the toughest for me. Now, the hard thing is finding things to eat outside my house. I went to the mall with a friend the other day and kind of panicked in the food court because I couldn't figure out what to eat, so I went to GNC and bought an OS Trim snack and ate that. I did ok last night though. I went shopping with another friend and he wanted to go to KFC. I thought, "there's nothing for me there" and then I stopped and forced myself to go look. I had the chicken with all the breading and fat removed, and it was good and went down easy and I was so happy. Isn't this the weirdest way to live? Weird, but great.
For vitamins, why don't you do the chewables? I use the Viactive chews and the Spring Valley Calcium chews, and my B12 is sublingual. The only vitamin pill I have is my iron, and it's very small.
I'd love to compare notes, and share support. The people I know who have had WLS have had lapband and so their experience is much different.

Snowshoeing, huh? That's one of my goals for next year. There's a place in Salem that rents snowshoes. I want to give it a try when I won't be stressing my knees so much. It's been a very slow weight loss for me compared to others. But, I'll take what I can get. I have the feeling when I go back to work on 1/4 the weight's gonna come off faster. ~Shirley
