Good Morning Everyone, I have my first doctors app with Dr. Campbell today. Can anyone tell me what to expect? Does all the paper work get submitted to the insurance today? Do you get a date for your surgery today? I only lost 5 lbs of the required 10, i'm still taking steriods. The nutritionist said i should of gained 10 lbs and the fact that i haven't is okay. Great someone hear at work brought in bagels from Panara bread!!! How much fat could be in those? LOL Any answers to my questions would be wonderful, but i leave work at 9:30AM to get from Ma. to NH Thank you

Not very well. She is very hard. I haven't been getting enough excercise because of my broken foot, so she didn't give me a surgery date. I am very upset about this! I had to make up an wxcercise schedule. So i have an appointment at the gym tomorrow and at curves to figure out what programs they have to help me since i just got my cast off. I'm thinking more of the gym cuz they have a pool and the aqua aerobics which wouldn't put any pressure on my foot. Anyway i faxed her over the plan, so now we wait to see what she will do. I also have to have this surgery before the end of the year because my insurance changes. I don't know what to do right now. I am so scared. Any advice would be so helpful. I started this program in March

Dr. Campbell is very hard but it is only becasue she wants you to succeed.  So if you put the effort in even with a broken foot and are able to lose the weight she will see that you can overocme the obstacles and are willing to accept the challenge.  Just do what she wants and keep chugging along and lose the weight and I think you will be fine.   Best of luck!

Hi Dianne,                       Well I just stumbled onto your post. I too had a foot problem. The week before my first appt  (April 07) with the coordinator at Portsmouth I fell and tore the tendons and ligaments in my right foot. I was unable to workout till late June.  It set me back but it is now Oct and I was banded last week. It is hard but worth the weight  oops I mean wait. lol  Hang in there.  Panara bagels MMMMM...                                           Linda

So do you think if i lose the 7 lbs i have left within the next couple of weeks she will schedule my app? I am taking drastic measures, excercise everyday and then make sure i take my pain meds. I also didn't know that white rice was bad for you, i thought because there was no fat that i could eat it. I found out yesterday when i talked to someone at curves that it was bad. They said make brown rice, so i will make alot of that today and freeze it up and use it with the lean cuisine for my lunches and dinners. I have planned. So i am hoping by Nov 6, my next nutrition app that something will give. I will also be buying some liquid meal replacements for my lunches. I do drink enough water. I have home delivery from poland springs and i drink water all the time. Well how long did it take you after your foot injury to lose the weight? I need to have this surgery soon because of the changes in my insurance. I am scared, nervous, and pissed that my company knows i am going through this for this surgey and there looking to change it. Well today is a new day of my journey, and i will be weighing myself this am and going from there. Thanks so much for replying.

Hi Diane,                      First off rice is a startch so be careful it adds pounds no matter what color. I used protien drinks twice a day. Slim Fast is okay as long as it is the carb control but Carnation Instant breakfast with skim milk and additional Carnation Instant milk flakes added to boost the protien is great. I whip them up in the blender.  It took me a couple of weeks but I also was careful how much I drank before weighing in on that day, it does add weight if it is close to weigh in on that day. I weighed in on Friday and wasn't at goal but on Tuesday I had lost 5 lbs. I was extra careful on Tuesday with drinking and it was the same time of day. I also used weights while watching TV at night just to work my arms, it is an excersise.  Keep working at it and keep in touch.                                                                                   Linda

Okay, i faxed my plan over to Dr. Campbell's office and she accepted it and i will also be faxing her a weekly report from the gym on wherether or not i showed up. I got a free weeks membership at Curves and went with my daughter last night, OMG i was exhausted. I have made the commitment to go every night for my free full week. I have also sighed up at the gym with my daughter, she didn't like curves. I have an appoinment to be there tonight at 7 to go over what they think will help and what i should be doing. I have made it my goal to be able to do kickboxing by April. I will start with the water areobics. Monday, Wed., and Thirsdays. I will also be bringing my 10 year old swiming with me on the weekends and they said she could do the water excersises. Pretty excited. Anyway i am hoping after busting my A$#$# this week that when i see monica the nutritionist i have lost the 6lbs like i needed. Wish me luck!!!
