Good Morning Everyone, I have a couple of questions; I see the doctor on October 24 and i am assuming this is for my surgery date. I got layed off from my job on June 1st so i kept my insurance through cobra just so i can have this surgery. I am presently going to CMC is anyone else going through Dr Campbell? Also i broke foot was on steroids for a week regained the 10lbs i needed to lose. Do you think i will still be able to have my surgery even thoughi regained? The nutrionist put it in my file and now i'm worried because the company i have my cobra through is looking at other insurances for January 1st and it probably won't include this surgery. Help!!! thanks for your responses.

Hi Diane - I had Dr. Campbell and although she is very strict about compliance, she is also a pretty great person to talk to.  But you have some time before October 24 so I would concentrate on trying to take those 10 pounds off as quickly as you can.  It will certainly look much better if you can show that you are making an honest effort to lose again.  Give it your absolute best effort - you CAN do it.

Diane,  Hello and welcome.  Dr. Campbell is awesome.  One reason for the weight loss is to shrink your liver and lower the risks of surgery so Dr. Campbell is quite strict about the weightloss and keeping it off.  You can also talk to Jacquie or one of the other nutritionists at the OTC, they may be able to work with you for a quick weight loss.  Like the earlier poster said, you have until 10/24 and can lose quite a bit of weight between now and then. Best of luck to you with your surgery.  Are you having LapBand or RNY?

I'm having the lapband. Also how long didyou wait from the time you saw her and the time she scheduled your surgery? I am concern because they are changing the insurance again in January. They do this every year thats why its been such a problem for me to finally get the surgery. I see Monica tomorrow and we have tried things but i will do a liguid if i have to for a week or 2. Whatever it takes. Thanks for your support. Let me know how long so i have something to go by.

My surgery was 6 weeks from the appt. with Dr. Campbell. I know she is busier now and I'm not sure how far out she is booking the surgery.  The OTC may have a better idea.   If your appt is Oct. 24th I would think she would get you in before the end of the year.

I hope she gets to me before then, my insurance is changing in January, IT doesnt give me much time to see her after the surgery before the change of insurances. That just s@#$ks. I am paying my cobra payments and i'm a little nervous about the change and if they are going to finish paying. I don't know what i am going to do. Can you have another doctor do it if she can't get to it before the end  of the year? Sorry i am just so upset. Where i use to worked did it to me before, i went all through the program for a year in Nashua and then they changed insurances that didn't pay for it.
