Hi,  my name is Lisa.  I am at the begining stages of the process.  Just met with Nancy last week & set up all my initial appts with Dr. Wagner, the nutritionist & PT.  I am really excited as I read about other people's journeys.  I am starting to lose my pre-op weight and looking forward to moving things right along.  If anyone has any advice, I'd love to hear it!!

Thanks!

Hi Lisa!  Great to have you here... please ask away if you have any questions!  Are you doing the band or the RNY?  Which program is Dr. Wagner with?

Hey all--Dr. Wagner is with the Portsmouth Program.  He's a hoot!!!   I'm hanging out enjoying some liquids, getting ready for bowel prep tomorrow!  I'm so ready! Angela

Rampaging on the plains, swinging gilded boxing gloves, cometh Angela D.! And she gives a gutteral scream:

"I'm going to make you cry like the bitchiest bitch!!!"

HI Everyone!  I am still here!  Life has been busy lately, between work and family obligations I feel like I am lucky if i get to do the laundry  (not that it's a chore that I enjoy, mind you!!)  Life seems to be going along well, no problems with dumping, am able to eat anything, as long as I remember to eat slowly!  I have been trying to limit pastas and breads to only once a week, and then only have them after I've already gotten my required protein and veggies in!   Have been enjoying the compliments I have received lately from both Don's family members (who had not seen me since the holidays) and from people at work (they are cute, come up and whisper.. "what's your secret ? you are looking great!!")  To those who knew about the surgery I tell them how its changed so many things in my life.  to those who did not know.. i just say that I am following my doctor's instructions for nutrition and exercise (which in reality is true!!)

Hope you are all doing well... I can't believe I am only 40 pounds from my goal now (and only 11 away from "onederville"!)  - it does not seem possible!

Have a great week!

Tammy

Hi Becky, Wow your hit 100. That must be exciting. I still have 13 to go to hit my 100. It is really starting to come off slow. I think I am at a plateau. But hopefully the scale will move again. I have 25 to go to my personal goal. But if I stopped today I would still be happy. Wow you have been busy this summer. I missed July's support group as it was hubby's and my 36th anniversary. I decided he was more important. Well you take care and keep up the good work. Tell your friend hi ( awful, I don't remember her name) and I will probably see her in a couple of weeks.  Talk to you later. Roxanne

HI! I'm in the portsmouth program! . went to a support meeting in june,  got my weigh in that night,  just met with Nancy this week, and that went very well.  she is a very kind and caring woman..... im about to set up my apointment with DR wagner.........  but am now relizing i need a referal from my pcp to dr gens because i have an hmo plan with Anthem.  so once i get the referal( i hope that won't take weeks!)i will then set up my appointments with the pt and nut......... i have already begun losing some of my pre-op weigh required before surgury. so i'm very happy about that! i missed the july support meeting . mainly cuz i thought it was the LAST monday of the month. but i spaced out and realized it's the 4th monday of the month!. thank god i did actually go that night!. i figured it out before then!........lol..... i'm very excited to be on my way even if it's just the very beginning!.......i look forward to getting to know some of you more, regardless of what program your in or if your lap or gastric...... oh . im going gastric... for sure!. i love my sweets and carbs........ i really feel like i could live on just sweets, so i really need the gastric for a tool to get me out of that! i wish you all the best!

Hi Roxanne,    Wow...you're doing great!  Can't wait to see you!  Bobbi is also doing well.  She had her first fill today.  She's down 53 lbs.  And...today Nancy asked us if we would be the speakers at the August meeting - the regular one, not the post-op one!  Come and heckle us if you'd like!     Hope you're enjoying your new "skinnier" summer!! Becky
